trying the Kudzu - Update-Update 2

Hi

Started my Kudzu yesterday………..   my wife did “make” me  try  „alternative“
medicine……  as I am a strong believer in school medicine (like Ueli calls it “only in scientifically sound methods)  but how can one resist
the wife's argument “then do it for me” and when my wife resorts to this argument I know there is no much room ……….  Just do it,….
So hope it will do what my wife told me it could do…… she was on all the threads about Kudzu….
For my self………  never looked into one……   still strong believer of the school medicine!
And still will give it a try……….   might make me an advocate of the „alternative“  medicine!

Michael

So after 10 days of Kudzu, seems as there is a significant improvement, can it be attributed to the Kudzu? I would be very carefull with a statement like that,  most important, something is happening and to the positive side, and I am happy about it, and that's what it is all about..... life is beautifull!!
now.... should I skip my next visit to the pain clinique.... its due  tomorrow....what the heck.... one hour less at work.... I will go....

Michael

UPDATE 2

So after about 6 month of Kudzu, it seems as there is a significant improvement, can it be attributed to the Kudzu? I would be very carefull with a statement like that!
I cant say It’s a scientfically sound test, but as I do use Kudzu and O2, almost exclusively, the only times I do use school meds (Zomig Nasal and Novalgin) are when nothing else helps (Zomig) or when the shadows become just above bearable……(Novalgin)

most important, something did happen and to the positive, and I am happy about it, and that's what it is all about..... life is beautifull!!

BTW even If I have rough nights (as it was last night) and have to resort to Zomig, I still think Kudzu
is helping…. if not taking the pain all the way away….. the pain hardly ever exceeds 6-7 on the Kip scale
and that is all I ask just less pain……..  with the rest I can live and very good

Sorry, But CH becomes not even secondary any more……..  Its my wife, and the boys
my extended Famely and

LIFE!!!!

Michael

Good luck.  I hope it works for you.

I recently tried it, and the 3rd week was better than week 1 and 2.  I haven't had to use anything except caffeine for a few days, and it may be why.

can someone break my incompatence?

what is Kudzu?

how does it work?

i've had other alternative treatments, the only one worth mentioning is the craniosacral massage.   it's whole basis is that there is a "pulse" in your back that is similar to your circulatory system and when it is disrupted some things happen to you (eg. headaches), so these specialists massage your back (while lying on it) to help force the circulation onto it's correct course
it worked by decreasing the intensity but didn't do much for the long term, but it might be worth trying though.

[edit] found the right spelling for craniosacral

Michael, kudzu can help a lot. It doesn't work for everyone, but when it works, it does help keep the frequency and intensity of the hits down. It takes some time to get the dosage and timing right, so give it a good try before you decide whether it's working or not. Good luck to you, and keep us posted.

Most definately GO to the clinic let them know what you've been using and let them know it's improved your overall pain levels and quality of life.  I'm happy to read that the Kudzu is showing you results.  This is great news.

Please keep us poted.  May the rest of your days remain PF!!!!

Hi Barry I started to order my over the net..... from the USA and they did UPS it to me.... As I can not get Kudzu in Switzerland ( the type recommended on the board) I had to order it in Germany and mail it via friends in Germany....  and with it a very high cost for the Kudzu and for mail....
If you would like I will IM to you the address of the supplier  (do not like the idia of advertaising on the bord)

Glad to hear that the Kudzu is working.

I took it for10 months.  Had great success!   It definitely changes the CH.  The hits are shorter..and the Kip level is lower.

I tapered off the Kudzu in December, and have only used 02 since.   I have had very few CH's since tapering the Kudzu.   I believe it really makes a difference for some of us.  Unfortunately it doesn't work for everyone.

Stick with it...and hopefully you'll have good long lasting results.

I'm very happy for you that the Kud is working....I was in a terrible position about a year ago when I started to get REALLY bad rebounds from the Imitrex.  I didn't know what to do until I read about Kudzu here.  I RAN out to get some and started as quickly as I could.  I still get my cycles but they are much shorter and very much lower on the kip scale then they used to be.  I used to get hit with 9-10s for three to four weeks 4 times per year...now I get 7-8 for only one to two weeks 3 times per year....that I can deal with!!!

btw....my meds are Verapamil 240 per day while in cycle and the kudzu....I continue the verap and kud for about a week beyond my last ch and then stop.  I guess I have been very lucky.

Hello R-headache,

So you are taking the Verapamil and the Kudzu at the same time ?

I thought the recommendation is that you dont because they both drop the blood pressure and they stop one another from working when used together ???Huh

I'm happy to hear of your continued success with kudzu, Michael.  Cheesy

Annette (and rheadache), kudzu and verapamil will not interfere with each other. The combo may lower the blood pressure by too much, but that doesn't seem to be a common concern, or something that many testers reported. At the normal CH doses (480-960mgs) of verap, someone with low BP might have a problem adding kudzu.

I don't seem to have any problems with taking both together and since I have borderline high blood pressure my GP actually likes the idea of my pressure coming down a bit.  Grin
