RC seeds = Ololiuqui They are the natural seeds of the Rivea Corymbosa plant (snakeplant) that grows in places in mexico and elsewhere. The seeds were used by the shamans of the aztec, mazatec and nahuatl of old mexico for centuries. Not only to treat varying illnesses but to determine what the illness was as well. In the 1940s some guy discovered it contained LSA a forerunner to synthetic LSD. The mazatec used the seeds for a bunch of illnesses like - headaches, intestinal problems, female issues, Fatigue, and the list goes on. It was somewhat of a cure all for many afflictions I am finding as I search. RC seeds were also used as a secondary way to commune with the spirit world when the magic mushrooms of the area were unavailable. In recent years some guys called clusterbusters made an even greater discovery and found it could help to not only stop a cluster headache but also slow and or stop an entire cluster cycle.

| Ahem......... It wasn't a forerunner to synthetic LSD as if it was discovered before LSD. You copied that from a 1971 article by Albert Hofmann. Gordon Wasson discovered RC seeds as psychoactive in Oaxaca in 1940. He sent those seeds to Albert Hofmann in Basel, Switz, to analyse after Hofmann had already created synthetic LSD in 1938. Tomorrow; Jan 11, 2006, Dr. Albert Hofmann will be celebrating his 100th birthday in Basel, Switzerland, alive and well. "Dr. Albert Hofmann (1906 - ) is a prominent Swiss scientist and best known as the "father" of LSD. He was born in Baden, Switzerland, and studied chemistry at the University of Zurich. His main interest was the chemistry of plants and animals, and he later conducted important research regarding the chemical structure of the common animal substance chitin, for which he received his doctorate. Hofmann joined the pharmaceutical-chemical department of Sandoz Laboratories, Basel, studying the medicinal plants squill and ergot as part of a program to purify and synthesize active constituents for use as pharmaceuticals." "His research in lysergic acid, the central shared component of ergot alkaloids, eventually led to the synthesis of LSD-25 in 1938." "It was five years later, on repeating synthesis of the almost forgotten substance, that Dr. Hofmann discovered the psychedelic effects of LSD after accidentally ingesting some through his fingertips on April 16, 1943. Three days later, on April 19 (later known as Bicycle Day), Hofmann deliberately consumed 250 µg of LSD, and experienced far more intense effects. This was followed by a series of self-experiments conducted by Hofmann and his colleagues. He first wrote about these experiments on April 22." "Hofmann also got interested in the seeds of the Mexican magic morning glory species Rivea corymbosa, the seeds of which are called Ololiuhqui by the natives. He was very surprised to find the active compound of Ololiuhqui chemically very similar to LSD." Happy 100th Birthday, Dr. Albert Hofmann. http://www.flashback.se/archive/my_problem_child/ BB

| Ahem ...... I stand corrected. I did "not" copy that from the source mentioned (though I was aware of the writings) as I had not read that fully untill now and in there I found no mention of other ailments treated under the section about the seeds. My statement was simply a condensed version of what I have read from many many articles and papers. Pulled straight from my sometimes flawed memory. For factual purposes also I am not sure if the nahautl was a language or a peoples, but thats the generalized gist of what RC seeds are. Many minds are more learned than mine, But I might be better looking. MJ
