Freddy-

It does not matter what kind of physical state you are in DO NOT MIX TRIPANS EVER. It is not a fine line - it is over the fucking edge.

To be honest Freddy. My HA started in July of last year. I have not had more then a few days break here and there since then.  I have told others here that I am glad actually to be getting these chronic, because I dont think I could deal with the fear of when a new cycle would start.

See who is near you that can help you with the Imitrex tip. Show you how to do it rather then just reading it.

Also, there are people who you can call or go to the chat room. There is always someone on line here. All of us have screamed into the night for it to stop. All of us have asked that question, but there is always someone who is here that truely understands.  That is what this MB and Clusterhead family is about. We are here because we do understand.

Find your focus. There are so many things in life, and that to live is the greatest choice that you can make. Do not fear what will come. Each day you  have, each second you have without the beast is the reason to go on.  He can not beat you and we will stand by you to help you.

Stay Strong,
Tia

Hypnotic Freddy, I bumped a thread entitled "Bad News" for you to read.  It's the one with 1200+ views.

Of course, can I mix this with Imitrex injections. Obviously good topics to discuss with the doctor tomorrow.

If you've got a good neuro, DEFINITELY bring this up for discussion.   This board has made survivors out of us.   Hang out and learn how.  Believe it or not, things can get worse without your family here.  This board helps to cope and beat this thing.  Grab an oar and just keep
rowing.  We're rowing for and with you, but just keep rowing.  Yeah, pain's a part of it.
Spend some time talking with your doc pertaining to how you feel about what you're going through .  If the clusters get you down, then find the will to not let it take from you.
There is a right combination that will be most effective for you.  You may not have found it yet, and experimenting on your own isn't wise when you don't
know what you're dealing with.  Get the best your doc can do for you tomorrow, and then KEEP GOING BACK, 'til he finds something that works for you.
Sometimes it's not that medications don't work for you, but that they may be needed to be taken in the right dosage.  Start rowing.

Freddy,

Don't mix the triptans.  The fact that you survied it before is no reason to beg for heart damage or worse.  You may have damaged your heart the first time around and don't even know it.  You think CH sucks?  Try a few weeks in ICU.  That'll make your CH look like dancing on XTC.  Don't be stupid.  We are here to help and you will survive this.  It will end.  It always does.

Just hang on, don't mix the triptans or the triptans with ergotamine and see the neuro.  You will survive this so don't go thinkin about playing in traffic.  You said you're a chemistry PhD?  Wow.  So is my uncle that's very cool stuff.  He is a professor at Temple.  You can get through your doctorate in Chemistry you can get through Clusterheadaches.

Freddy - Take a look at the post I just wrote on the dating thread. I think it might be something to think about. Also, you might want to contact the people regarding the Zomig trials.  As they will provide meds for you it might work out well for you.

Imitrex is a wonderful almost immediate pain reliever, but a doubled edged sword.  If you take too much it WILL cause your cycle to extend longer than normal.  After my last cycle, I decided to split up some doses for the next cycle via sterile vials and insulin needles rather than reinjecting myself with the one in the stat dose kit.  So, I order the stuff from this link and have it ready.  Fortunately for me, the cylce still has not happened because of the alternative treatment.

Here's a link for the needles and vials if you're interested:
