Had 2 replacement O2 tanks delivered today by the gal who is the regional mgr for the supply company.  She has more than a passing interest in ch since her 18 year old son has clusterlike symptoms even tho his doc has diagnosed him with migraines. (he gets almost immediate relief from O2)

Anyway, we were talking and she said "I don't want to get your hopes up but there is a possible cure coming". Seems there is a bio-chemist from St. Louis who's wife is a sufferer and has developed a drug to fix it. He would'n go into any detaill but said trials, with FDA approval, will be starting in  about 3 months. I don't know how far back in my head my eyes had rolled but she knew I didn't beleive it. But, ya never know.

Uh, flamers to the right, hopefuls to the left.

Any volunteers?

Well the more pople in the field who have to deal with this either themselves or with a family member are our biggest hope of research. Because people who are disinterested 3rd parties are never going to take the time to do it.

"Developed a drug to fix it"     ??

Kinda like when my electrical wiring shorts out and someone "fixes" it?

Not flaming or hopeful Bob.  Just don't like the way that was worded by a BIO CHEMIST.

Currently there are exactly 2 studies for cluster headache on the FDA Clinical Trials website.  Both of them have to do with that nose burning stuff.  We can always check back in 3 months I guess   Undecided

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct

The only other significant thing I found was a new anti-convulsant which may have some hope in treating M.... er  M..... um....M....ah.....
You know what I mean... that other headache.   Wink

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00055484?order=1

But it's only in Phase II.  And, of course, cluster headaches were excluded from the trials.

Where's Aricept?   Huh

Wasn't MHNI going to be doing some research on clusters?  I heard that from someone not too long ago.

I've never qualified for the M trials either, eyes...a never ending one doesn't get ya in the door, and neither does clusters!
