Hi to everyone, I'm taking more Lithium right now... today I got a shock ..... I put on my light trousers, but they are small... .... (No Jonny, it's not because I eat to much pasta )... my neuro said it's Lithium fault. So, when you take more Lithium, have you ever taken weight? Just a coriousity... PFDAN to you all..... Zaira

In cycle, I take 900 mg/day of lithium (Eskalith). I have experienced no weight gain or loss. The prescription insert that comes with the pills has information about possible side effects if you have not already read it closely. I get some of them, but not all. At 900 mg the major side effect is tremors in my hands. After 18 years, I rarely have to have lithium level blood work done anymore. At 1200 mg/day I had to have blood work done every six weeks. I don't take 1200 anymore because it makes me whacko.

Zaria, I am on 540 mg of verap and 450 mg of Lithium per day. I have been taking this combo since December 21st. The only side effect I have is NO HEADACHES. Not a one since that date. I can also have a cocktail or two without suffering the beast. SO I LOVE LITHIUM!!!!!

I also had great success with the Lithium/Verapamil combo. I lost weight the entire time I was taking it, but that's been going on regardless of what meds I was on. The tremors bothered me a lot, so when I didn't need Lithium anymore, I was happy, but I was even happier when it had started to work on my chronic CH. Now that the headaches are virtually non-existent, I am off all meds entirely and I'm still losing weight very regularly (1 pound/month for over 2 years) -Fu

Hi Zazi, I'm on a Verap and Lithium combo also, 480 mg Verap and 600mg Lithium, and have had no complications whatever. Verap by itself did nothing for me, but with the Lithium added ithas cut the HAs by about a third, and the intensity by almost half. jc
