My son's sore throat?

This is just a shot in the dark. I have been reading a lot on the web trying to find out if my sons reoccurring sour throat is normal or not. He has had strep a couple of times in his 12 years but most of the time his throat becomes sore just out of the blue with no redness or fever. It’s like a feeling of numbness deep down in his throat and hurts when he swallows especially liquids. Food not hurt much. It’s a strange sore throat to me I have never heard of this feeling that he has. We have been to an ENT and his Ped. Doc on many occasion’s and they never find anything they just give him a dose of antibiotics and some sinus med. Sometimes just a sinus med. and Tylenol for pain. Hmmmm? Ok, don’t want to make this to long. If anyone has any input on this type of sore throat pain I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a bunch: Robin I hope I don't offend anyone by asking this off the wall ? I am a CH sufferer Just needed some help.

I know of no connection between sore throats and cluster headaches. Try a site that deals in sore throats. Good luck

Children often have colds, sore throats etc etc etc if your worried I personally would keep taking him back until you are satisfied with the outcome....good luck. Mac I don't see anywhere in this post where this CH sufferer has said there is a connection between sore throats and CH's so chill out and put your feet up. Cathy

Robin It sounds very much like the pain I had when I had a bout of pharyngitis. The pain is much lower down than a normal sore throat, and swallowing liquids is the most painful of the lot, to the point where you end up spitting in a cup rather than swallowing I was told it often develops after another URTI such as a cold and was a secondary infection. Wendy P.S. Mac, it's a good job I wasn't asking you when I needed advice about my son's eating. You would have sent me to a nutrition site when what I wanted was help from people I trusted.
