Who watched the Oscars?

Hi, I stayed up until 5am to catch the Oscars (I live in London, UK), so I got to ask who else saw the show? I must say that I was hoping that Naomi Watts would have won the Best Actress award and Lost in Translation would have been the best picture, but otherwise I had fun watching the telecast... I try to predict every year who'll win what, but well, I had no idea Lord of the Rings would clear the table so complitely. It was fantastic that Renee finally won and Tim Robbins deserved his. The Best actor to me was Bill Murray, but Sean Penn was my other favourite, so no complaints there. Blake Edwards was so hilarious as he crashed to that wall! And Billy Chrystal's 'I know what you all are thinking' cracked me up and Jack Black & Will Ferrell singing a duet - so funny! Anyways, it kept me amused during a nasty kip 8, so it was well worth it. So what did you guys think? Best wishes, sandie99

I didn't watch but I was glad "Nemo" won best animated. My soon-to-be-three nephew watches that and is SO ENTRALLED with that movie. He just loves fishes now. He can name octopuses, starfish, sharks, clownfish. As uncle I went with him to the aquarium and he just LOVES fish. That movie really made an impact on him. His sisters too, but on him it has been more lasting. Of course the inevitable fishtank has now been bought, with one fish. They named it Dory, after one of the characters. Kevin M

Wow Dannyboy! They let you out? Sandie, sorry your thread has been hijacked by an old bete noir of the board! I'm watching the Oscars now. Liked it when Renee thanked Nicole Kidman's ex husband who was nothing to do with the film, but never mentioned Nicole or Jude! What's that all about? W

I see DJ has resolved some long standing bones of contention on the MB by creating some new MB's Does that mean I can start another hunt?
