since i started CH at 15 and am 47 now, at least once a year, out of nowhere, on the same side as my ch, right, i get a 5 to ten second earache that knocks me on the floor, pulsating pain, worse than any ch, right in the soft spot under my earlobe, and its over as quick as it came. no specific time of year, never asked a doctor about it, just asking if anyone ever heard of such a thing.

Could be what we call an icepick headache. I've had them a few times, very intense but fortunately short lasting, fels like someone has seriusly stabbed you with an icepick. The pain is sudden and intense enough to get a short yelp followed by a damnit. Kip

I agree with what Bobkip is saying. A branch of the trigeminal nerve leads toward the ear, so I don't find your earaches surprising. I experience those 'icepick' pains almost on a daily basis now in area behind my eye where my CH is. They are short and extremely painful. If they become too bothersome I have a prescription of Indomethacin just waiting to be filled. --- Steve

I've always said I get a "cramp" in my ear. That's the spot alright. Sometimes I can "pop" it and it goes away, but it's like a Charlie Horse. What I've thought was an icepick - was a stab in the eye. Get those too. Can't do anything about them except yep or yell. Hugs BD

EEEEEEvery once in a great while I get a sharp pain in my right ear, lasts no more than a couple of seconds, not debilitating or anything but it does get my attention. I don't know if its CH related or not, never occured to me, and hasn't happened since my diagnosis that I can remember but if it ever happens again I'll let ya know. Ramon
