question about survey + tunig fork therapy

finding this website is the best thing that has happened in my CH life! when i found it i was asked to take the survey, and i did, they gave me the results and i hit every long line with my answers, what scared me was that the meds and cures questions were also the same as mine, i.e. nothing works as the most popular answers, this bummed me out. then i got to thinking that this survey is given to newcomers and that once a member you share ideas and stuff so: is there a survey for after being here for a while and diagnosing each other and suggesting treatments, etc? , i would think that the answers would change to "what works for you?" ps i have been using a tuning fork, not joking here, on my temple for the past couple days and have aborted most headaches, lessened the duaration and pain levels from 7-9 down to 3-5, its an A 440, for my guitar, i hit it and let it ring out with the hilt on my temple, ican feel the noye dep in my head. but! i remember from my past CH life (7 years PF and just started againg) that new tricks seemed to work cause they were so stupid and confused me temporarily. anyone heard of using sounds=different notes? this would not be ultrsound since the noted are audible.

bubu, Veeery interesing. But please please please do not call it a cure. Over the years we've had many so called cures that ranged from ridiculous to outrageous. Maybe the tuning fork enhances pressing ones temple during an attack.??? Kip

Listening to music helps me as well. But, it won't take CH away, but I can face it bit easier. CH made me love rock more than I did before! Best wishes & PFdays, sandie99

Cool idea. This is more specific than music - could be stimulating particular nerves in the trigeminal region in a particular way. While its an unproven treatment, it has more appeal to me than implanting a pacemaker in the hypothalamus. Some of the variables for 'harmonic therapy' would include frequency, intensity, the location for applying it, and the duration. I had a housemate in college that had a oscillator hooked up to his stereo. He tuned it so it was at the resonant frequency of the house's structure. Shook the house in a pretty scary manner at low volume, claimed he could bring down the house with a hundred watts or so, and I didn't doubt him. | More like the beast adapts (or our body dis-integrates more, so old treatments aren't effective any more). Or we try 20 things, and the thing that we are trying when the beast leaves is naturally believed to be the treatment that works. But this type of mistake is less a problem for testing something to abort a cluster headache - it is easy to tell if a headache goes away or is greatly reduced.

| I have to agree on this one, very interesting, Keep us up to date on how this works out! Usually loud bonecrushing heavy metal music helps me to keep things in perspective while in cycle, or during attack. Other times its complete silence that helps. Ramon

Hmmmmmm. You never know. Maybe sound is something to consider. I want dead silence but there is nothing to say that's what we all need. Glad to have you. Charlie
