Not looking forward to spring

Hi Guys,
I havent posted anything for a year or so but I do check in to listen every week.(or so) Up here in Gods Country (North Dakota) yesterday it finally got above 0 all the way to 20 degrees. WOW! 3 weeks of -30 weather. We like to say it keeps the riff raff out. Ha-Ha. Anyway we are all thinking of spring and I am dreading it. Like clock work I will be atacked at least 3 times a day for 3 weeks. I hate winter but I hate Spring even more. So when I see questions regarding triggers, thats the one I think of and from what I can tell its pretty much that way for alot of CHrs am I right? I bet this board goes crazy in April and May. Take Care everyone and PFDN to you.

Magpie,
Hoping the beast misses you this year and you have a pf spring for a change. You sound like you deserve it after surviving the winter in N Dakota...yikes!
Actually fall is my time of year with one exception of a summer cycle in '96.  I know what you mean about dreading the change of seasons. Scary stuff for sure but try not to dwell on it and enjoy your pf time.

Hi Magpie,

Springtime is typically that time of year for me too.  Last year 4.5 months; the year before 5.5 months.  Toward the end of the last cycle I discovered melatonin.  You might give it a try before the beast pays a visit.  It knocked off about a month of my cycle.  It appears that about 50% of us have had excellent to good results from it.  The people that it benefited most appears to be episodic like you.  Anway, look up some of the old threads on this subject that was here a couple months ago and maybe give it a try.  It's cheap and readily available over-the-counter.  Good luck

I called my neuro this week, first time in almost 3 years.

His office manager says "I' knew you'd be calling. It's spring time. Cluster season".

This is the office manager not clinical staff. I got a good neuro or what? Even the clerical staff is trained in CH.

Got in in 3 days.

I still like springtime. Not going to let a silly little thing like CH ruin it . Break out the fishing poles!

Hi Magpie,
I never know when to expect a visit from the beast. Winter, spring, summer or fall; it doesn't matter when the @#$% beast decides to call. But I always have at least one full tank of O2 ready to kick its butt.
best of luck,
Kip

I ain't looking forward to spring this year either.

Normally, things start happening in late Feb. or mid March and last about 3 weeks for me. Skipped it last year and the beast came back as regularly scheduled last Oct. This year so far, I cannot claim a full blown CH yet but every now and then over the past 3 weeks I have felt what seems to be a really low level shadow (no real pain) but enough to keep me guessing (maybe its just the stress of the new work situation...I can't say for certain) But the feeling is right where my clusters hurt (tender eye, base of the skull...no stuffy nose yet) Undecided

Spring seems so far away yet, with so much snow and freezing temeratures but geez, hit or don't so I can stop worrying or take action already! Angry
