Thought this interesting!

This afternoon was listening to radio in between shoveling the freakin snow and just happened to catch something...it was about repetitive massive headache sufferers...

.......here's what was said - basically.

People who suffer from repeated headaches can suffer lesions on the brain which can contribute to other maladies including dementia.....

......and me being ME - well, you can just imagine my relief! Grin  (I was NOT born this way, -it's just the EDDACHES Roll Eyes)

Do you think we could actually have lesions on our brains?  Are we really subject to dementia????  -- or -- should i just turn off the godam radio? Huh

Kim it was on the news tonight. I thought it very intresting as I am a Migrainer. I also thought damn the research that is going into mirgrains and look what they found it took years to find.
Makes you also wonder if Migrains are doing this what are clusters doing to us. Migraines can can cause death!!! Can clusters???? Migraines can now cause brain damage ! Can Clusters?
This makes what Cat and Roxy is doing that more important to me.
Anyone wanting to read about what Kim is talking about here is the link to it.
Thanks for posting this Kim!

Thanks for seeing through the window Elaine Smiley

I heard the broadcast and IMMEDIATELY grabbed Brian to listen........we talked about it - how i always have said my skull feels bruised and the memory loss, the whole bag a worms, etc....

I truly feel that clusters has caused permanent memory disorder for me.  I also have always felt that the clusters has left a "bruise" on my brain - like over-ripe banana.... -
really - i joke about it - but..........i think on it a lot and really was listening to that radio today.  Like a dog that priks his ears..... Wink

Er.....ah......Kim........you ain't alone in this thought train. Many feel the same way about you. KimSpeak is the 8th wonder of the world......and entertaining as hell. Thankfully, much of my gray matter has gone totally dark. It's sort of like punting on 1st down.

Most news shows are NOT going to say the word "cluster".... - it's just too "foreign".....peoplewill not relate and "tune out".  In my opinion, when you hear the "M" word, don't immediately tune out.  It is a process and we are working towards recognition that does not come easily.  On the radio they said "migraine", but added that migraines usually come "once in a while"..........i think it left the field wide open and i'm glad they worded it how they did!  You had to be listening.........but if you were, you could not help see where it was going!

I know my memory is less sharp recently.  I use to be able to quote dimensions without looking at the drawings.  No way now.

I find myself forgetting my train of thought in the middle of a dialog.  I'm 48 for God's sake!

I have no doubt that this is a result of the brain torture of CH.

Did I spell forgetting correctly?

LOL Randy - I'm surprised that she let you slide on that one........

I always figured that my short term memory loss was due to old age and excess stress.  Two MRI's and an MRA didn't pick them up, but maybe it's brain bruising after all.

Uh oh......... does this mean that I'll be using KimSpeak soon?

the problem of memory loss has really been bothering me lately!
I even mentioned it to my Dr. yesterday. He  really didn't say much about it, except that I just probably have too much on my mind.

I really think that having ch is going to speed up any dimentia that I might have had. I am 47 and work in a nursing home so I really see the different stages and it really does scare me!

Speach is another problem that I have had lately and wonder if it is signs of aging or ch related.
You have to agree that  this sight is the only way our ailments can be compared and I don't think that older generations are either not sure of what they have or not able to share it with anyone like we are able to.

"Do you think we could actually have lesions on our brains? "
Well,I know that my last MRI showed what the doc
called 'scars' on my brain.Weather they were from my
massive migraines or my CH,who knows?
Are the 'scars' the same as leasions?Your guess is as good
as mine.
I guess I should mentintion that the 'regular' docs said
that the results were normal it was my chiro that told me
about the 'scars',I find that interesting in itself.Myabe the
'regular' docs are used to seeing this in migraine/CH patients?
makes me wonder.I think I'll print that article
and have a little chat with my neuro about it.
I accepted a log time ago that I will probably die of a
stroke or heart attack triggered by either the CH or the
migraines(someday)Ah,what the hell we all gotta go
somehow,someday.

The "spots" or scars on my MRI were called mini strokes .. I wonder what they really are?   Hmmmm...

I blame a lot of my memory problems with the 6 year intence affair I had with MaryJane ...  SMOKIN" !!!!!!

When I voiced my concerns about my amnesia, or dementia, or alzimers, my doc said, "Ah, forget about it!"  So I did!  My kids just put it off to me being an old fart ...

What was this topic about?

What is my name?

Where am I?

Ah, forget it!

I would really like to learn hear more on this topic!!

I was once meeting with a new neuro in his office while undergoing a 6/7 kip ch.

simplw questions to start

name- ok
age- Aaah fuck how old am I? Within seconds I thought this is a trick question/ he got my file/ is it written there?/ i can see it from here/ look to mum for advise.  aaaah thats right my birthday was TWO DAYS AGO Im 27. aah shit no thats right my BIRTHDAY WAS @ DAYS AGO IM 28 NOW!!!

phew Embarassed

I normally have an exceptional memory. I schedule for 26 print and binding machines with approx 60 jobs a work going through the plant. I remember the job, how many copies to be produced, which machine it is on, when it has to deliver, everything that is involved to produce the job, but right now I cant remember my own age.

So YES CH screws your memory.

SEcondly, after a high kip CH I have had bruising and swelling around the bridge of the nose and forehead. ( these are not battle wounds from headbutting the shower tile, thats on the side of the head)
so are these bruises from lesions/damage etc.

And what are the dangers to the brain while headbutting objects like brickwalls ( even miniture baseball bats to the head, cn these lead to trouble later on??

Sorry for the long post
