Think you have it cold?

This morning when I woke up, the temperature here in sunny Saskatchewan, Canada was -42C (-43F) with a wind-chill of -52C (-62F). At noon, we are enjoying a relatively balmy -38C (-36F) with no measureable wind. Anyone else who thinks they have it cold, THINK AGAIN!!! BTW... All schools, government offices, etc... are still open! dreaming of Negril, grant

Ah yes, Having relatives in Canada, I have experienced this type of coldness. I distinctly remember visiting one holiday season and the temperatures dipping so low that advisories were given to not go outside with ANY part of your body exposed to the elements for it would freeze solid in a matter of seconds. As far as I can tell only the "absolute zero" of space can compare. Throw another log on the fire and drink alot of brandy and cognac. It doesn't get THAT cold here, but, whether its Centigrade or Farenheit 0 degrees is damn cold none the less. Still shiverring...... Ramon

This Wisconsin girl would brave it. My down coat is guarenteed for 40 below zero. I know how to stay warm. Good thing in a few years my husband and I are moving to Siberia to do missionary work. I have been studing the weather there for over 6 years now. It is no worse there than here. In the northern parts were the reigndeer are and it gets 80 below out the natives are known to sleep outside in the open. That to me is just plain insane.

Steve, I would think Fort Saskatchewan is -29ºC. I live 10 minutes south of there (Edmonton) and it's -28º as I write this. -19 would be tropical around here right now.

it was a chilly 38 degrees when I woke up, but then the sun came up and it warmed up to the low 70's by lunch. It was so nice I put the top down on the convertible. Now, in the summer it gets well into the 110's, but the humidity is only around 30% to 40%, so it's a DRY heat...bullshit...LOL Hot is hot. Gotta love So Cal. Can't wait to leave it...the weather is nice, though...

| Sorry. Weather.com (where I got the stats) only showed the info in Fahrenheit(s). I don't know how accurate their stats are compared to your actuals. I went back highlighted all the F's in red. Fahrenheit to Celsius Converter http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm According to the Converter, -28 C is -18.4 F Hope this/that clears things up. _____________________________________________ Here on Tuesday, the 27th Of January: Time Temp(F) Feels Like(F) Dew Point Humidity 7:53 AM 11° -5° 3° 65% -11.666(C) -20.555(C) No where near as cold as you have to deal with & certainly not any where near the duration. It does get cold, somewhat here too at times. No, I am not complaining about the cold here, just showing these numbers for comparison. It is really frikken cold up there! Stay warm Canada folks.
