Meet & Greet & CH
« on: Jan 27th, 2004, 7:55pm »

There are a lot of meets and greets going on around the country.  I think it is AWESOME!  There is NOTHING to compare with meeting other ch'ers and supporters!  I hope I continue to see them happening over and over!

A concern that I have heard, I want to address.  I have heard that some do not want to go because they are in cycle.  This is the lamest excuse that there is!  Do you remember who these people are?  If ANYONE fully understands what you are going through, it is this group at your meet & greet.

Even those of you that are like I am, should go.  I am the type that wants to be alone, and not let anyone witness me during a hit.  There is always a place for you to go, even if it is the bathroom, where you can battle the beast in privacy.

I went to a meet and greet while I was in cycle.  Mikey was there also, and he was in cycle (actually we are both chronic).  Both of us got hit (several times) while with the group.  I just excused myself, and went out to my O2 tank and dealt with it.  Mikey did the same.  No one made any big deal about it.  Everyone knew what was happening, and felt strongly for us, but they let us do what we knew we had to do.

Everyone understood.  No problem.  From what I heard, this happened over and over at the conventions.  Those that wanted assistance, got it.  Those that wanted privacy, got it.  No one made a big to do about it.  EVERYONE understood.  Where else are you going to get that sort of acceptance?

What I am trying to say in this long winded comment is, NEVER use "being in cycle" as an excuse to miss one of the best experiences that you will ever have.  Go to it!  Enjoy the love and comradery!  Have the time of your life!

Enjoy!

Chuck

Well said, my cluster brother!!!

I will have plenty of hiding places available at my get together.  My home is your home.  Hide, cry, scream, pace, go in the playroom and throw toys!
If you want a hug, there are plenty available.  If you want to be video taped so you can show your doctor, I can accomodate that too!

Please go to any meet and greet you can, and as many as you can.  There is nothing like it.  You will see.

Right on Cluster Chuck.

Everyone that goes has Clusters. Even the supporters are wonderful. They have been there and seen it all too. Never miss a meet & greet if you don't have to. You will NOT regret it !!!!

Seems to me that if you get hit while enjoying the company your Clusterbuds the vibes they send will have less distance to travel...

Don't let CH rule your life!!  I know, easier said than done, but if your going to get hit I cannot think of a better place for it to happen.

Ditto Chuck!!!

I got hit with my usual light afternoon attack while in Davenport and was able to just keep on with the conversation while I sat dancing in my seat and held on to the table and cried.  What a release it was to be able to do so and not have to explain, refuse offers of advil, etc.  I just said "Pardon me, I'm getting hit." and they said, "We noticed."  I LOVE my clusterbuds!!!

Can't wait for Nashville.  Anybody want to buy one of my kids so I can afford it? Grin

I understand your point, but I still remain a bit incredulous.

Empathy notwithstading, it's an incredibly private thing for me.  I have to confess that this is what finally dissuaded me from going to Raleigh.  Sad, but true.

BRO, admit it, your reasoning is not the chs...you are just terribly SHY....and I mean SHY....it is not a sin to admit this....Folks, he is really a shy person....It is hard to get someone who is not used to meeting a group of folks to just go in a room full of new people...so the only answer for Bri is to have someone go to his house, get him drunk as a dog, then drive him to NC...there, i said it...love ya, Brian...you are alright in my book, even if you do wear plaid pants, brother!  Smileynancyc

I'm in cycle an my wife just found this site last week and we are already going to travel 7 hours to meet fellow CH'ers and family. We need them! I was more reluctant about just going somewhere because of my mistrust of the internet but what is there to lose? Nothing! I've never meet a CH'er in person so this is a special treat for me! All I have to say is thank god for the internet in this case!

All those going to their first meet and greet:  All the axe murderers and serial rapist have signed binding contracts not to perform their evil deeds on any fellow clusterhead or supporter, while at a meet!

Now AFTER the meet and greet ...  Well we can't control them ALL the time!!!
