Must give Thanks - I believe in Family

CH Family, [sorry, i got a bit long winded here]
I cannot adequately express what finding this site and all of you has meant and done for me. My heart and PF vibes go out to you all.

I pressume, unlike most memebers, I just kinda jumped in without any introduction, background or med history; providing only snipits of info as i reply to various posts.

I decided to keep a journal of this annual episode and am astounded at the amount of time CH consumes...47 attacks over 30 days totaling 61.5 hrs. This is just intense pain time. Shadows, exhaustion, etc. not included.

4AM Monday was probably my low point of the last 30 days. Having gone thru all of this while running a business [or trying to] and my better-half being care-giver to her mother in another state since Nov., I was not sure how or if i could face the next attack.

Through bleary, tired and throbing eyes, I found O.U.C.H and CH.COM. I can't explain why, but reading the main stories in O.U.C.H and all of the posts here at CH allowed me to let go and cry. Maybe it was seeing my life in print, or feeling so deeply for what others are going thru. Still trying to sort out the answer to that one. I do know that it felt good to 'just let go'.

Anyway, enough babble and on to the thanks...
PF since Monday night and counting because of
ALL OF YOU

My episode, if as usual should continue at least another 2 to 3 weeks, so this PF period is out of the ordinary. Not even the slightest shadow pain, stuffiness, etc.

The only thing i have done different is self-med------
Dopymax - The Neuro had me on 25mg Am & PM all year long [again - treating for meegraine]

Seeing some members here on as much as 400/day, I took myself to 100mg AM & PM on Monday night and have continued that thru tonight.

No side effects and feeling really fine. The payoff was my wife telling me it was nice to hear me laugh once again during our nightly long distance conversation.

So to you, family, many thanks, for all of the great information, life-sharing, caring and love.

Peace to all,
-357Mag

You don't really need to introduce yourself.  Everyone here understands already.

It is obvious that knowing that you are not alone means as much to you as it did to me when I first found this site.  (I cried, too.)

There's a lot of information and experience here, as you've already discovered.

Basic treatment:  you need preventatives and abortives.  Sounds like you already found an effective preventative.  Generally best abortives are O2 and Imitrex injections.

Welcome.

Since we are now onto a musical theme, I thought of the "Beach Boys"?   song "Big Girls Dont Cry"....... but Big Blokes do.
When in cycle I seem to break down and cry regularly. I think this is for two reasons, the hypothalamus is involved with emotions ( I feel upset and on the brink of tears driving to work over nothing)  and the physological strain makes you crack, so to speak. Afterwards I feel a lot better and able to cope once again, I feel revitalised.

Kinda like the yellow brick road, you gotta find brains, courage and a heart, which this sight provides.  Except there is no wizard that can get you out of this nightmare.  The wicked witch will come and go as she pleases, skywriting "Surrender ...  Keep those three friends always that this site provides.
