Wrote my story like the rest of us...thinking all would understand that we will try ANYTHING TO MAKE THIS PAIN STOP!!! All I got back was a nasty response in reference to smoking marijuana to ease the pain. This will be my last visit here. Sorry if I offended anyone with my honesty, but then again some Americans aren't afraid to tell the truth. Don't believe the hype, do what ever it takes to stop/ease the pain until a cure is available. In the meantime you have my word that I will donate as much as I can afford to cure our cause. Signing off. Andy.

Andy, I just sent you an E-mail asking that you not take the response of one person as the opinion of this whole "Family". Stick around for a while, I'll bet you have more in common with many more than you might think. Hope you give this group a chance to show you why we're all here, to give and receive support and share with those who understand how this Beast of Cluster Headaches can affect our lives. Dave

Huh? First of all, I noticed you only had ONE post, so how could you have told your story. Second, Marijuana doesn't help cluster Headaches. Third..No one who comes to this site is turned away simply because they ask questions trying to figure out how to ease the pain. That's what we're all here for. wanna try again.??? Here, I'll start. Hi, my name is Linda. Welcome.

Read the thread entitled, "Damn!! Anybody got a paper?" I don't know who flamed you so bad but I don't think the general attitude on this board is hostile to any possible method of treating cluster headaches and the pain caused by them. I'll bet more than half the people on this board have tried marijuana for CH.

| Ditto!!! In the past, I have tried VERY small amounts of pot as an abortive. While it seemed to work for a couple nights, the next time I tried it, it only worsened the pain... A LOT! I never tried it again. I'm sure a lot of us have tried it and I'd be willing to bet that most found no consistent positive effects. just my worth, grant

My first posts on this board created an argument for myself too, but I kept conversing. By the end of the first day I had made a new friend with who had the difference of opinion and found many more friends here, that was years ago. We are here. Some here are simply eager to help, we are not the best communicators at times or may be prone to say something you are not in agreement with at this time, but whatever opinion was not agreeable to you, it was expressed to you out of heart, and in an effort to help. Hell, I'm glad DJ is a very astute editing moderator. I've used a wrong word here and there that I am glad had been reevaluated, and I've agreed everytime with the change. We make mistakes, but learn by staying. Stay.

Shit man, I've supported the mexicans, the columbians, and the jamaicans for quite some time. I have even resorted to growing my own on occasion. But the truth is, aint nothing ever stopped my CH's except Imitrex as an abortive, and Prednisone and verapamil as a preventative. Shit, there are people who have resorted to let surgeons slice their nerves up to stop this dreadful pain. I personally would try just about anything if i thought it would stop this CH without killing me instantly! I hate it that someone flamed you for your 1st response, I find that to be offensive myself. But thats only 1 person, and there are hundreds on this board who will support you! Good luck, Patrick

Andy, There's been times I've gotten "flamed" or misunderstood maybe is the better word (?), and decided to leave ch.com. However, I would talk things out. This helped with some people and not with others. But the longer I stayed, the more wonderful friends I made and the more help and great suggestions I'm receiving to get through this hell. Don't leave just because one or two people made you upset. Get some thick skin and stick around. I talked to my boyfriend the other day, and he never lets anything bother him. He said to me these words of wisdom: "Well sweetie, opinions are like a$$holes, everybody's got one!" LOL Just remember that everyone has their own story and point of view. Stick around! PF to ya! ~Lizzie

Andy I never saw the thread, and can't see it now. So how about we start again? Hello, I'm Wendy, an episodic CH sufferer who has no problem with a bit of blow and smoked fags (sorry! I'm a Brit and that's what we call them) for a hobby for 20 years. Welcome to the home of CH sufferers. Can you tell your story again? Wendy

I smoke pot every day and drink wine for a living….until a ClusterCycle starts. As soon as that first pain hits (5:02am Oct. 20, 2002 last time, PF time is counting down) I won’t touch any pot or any alcohol, until my brain tells me that the cycle is over. I have paid the price for learning this lesson many, many, many, many times over, during my 18 years with episodic Clusters. The PAIN is never worth the experimentation; When In Doubt, Cut It Out! (my apologies to Johnnie Cochran) Now, I would like to say in summation (again, my apologies to Johnnie Cochran), perhaps the person that you took offense to, was only looking out for your welfare, that tends to happen here. You can see that we are pretty unanimous on the pot thing. We ClusterHeads need vaso-constrictors not vaso-dilators during cycle. For me that means nicotine and caffeine, end of story. You’re a fuckeneh ClusterHead; we endure the most excruciating pain known to humans. Shake it off and jump back into the Moshe Pit. Look at the support you’ve already generated. Don’t make these good people who are reaching out to you, feel let down (How’s that for a frigging quasi-guilt trip?). Welcome, you will find that this is our only place on Earth, David J.

I would estimate there are 50-100 people religiously or sporadically posting to this forum in any given time frame. You got ONE email. Think about it.
