All I can say is WOW!

That was one of the most amazing weekends that I've ever had the opportunity to experience. My 3 quick first impressions are:

1. This is a group of people who probably wouldn't ALL hang out together if they didn't all have the common bond of CH. However, the commonality of cluster headaches REALLY made this group like a big family. It was almost an instant bonding & camaraderie that formed when we got there.

2. These guys smoke amazing quantities of cigs & drink gallons of alcohol!! For a non-smoker, I feel like I've had a 2-pack a day habit just from the 2nd-hand smoke from this weekend.

3. The word for porch in the state of Iowa is pronounced ATRIUM. Grin

Many thanks go out to Noooorrrrrrmm! for the legwork & scheduling, Gena for coming up with the idea in the first place (and just to think people want to go to Iowa in Jan) and to Tina for emailing me about the idea & keeping us all hyper about it, to Jacks & Blaaaaaaaaaaake for horsDervs Smiley , to BigDan & the Hapster for keeping us all rolling in laughter through the weekend, to Rox for the CDs & Cat for her diligent laptop work, to Elaine for getting well & showing up to surprise us,

WooooHooooo ... the Packers score!!!!!! (sorry Joe  laugh)

Go Pack Go

Well, that's it for now, but I'm sure I'll be adding more as I decompress from Iowa-2004.

Take care

Know exactly what you mean. We ( Elaine, Drummer, Todd, Barb. D and I forget the gals name) had the first gettogether in Rochester at Drummers home. It was fantastic and memorable; instant family.Glad you had the experience and try for many more. (Nashville???)

We're home as well, hopefully this time my damn post will go through.

It was great to see everyone again, and to meet all the new faces.  I really enjoyed talking with Bruce and his wife Lisa (make sure you meet them, it means AWESOME cheesecake as well as a great CH bud!).

There REALLY IS a Blake!  I finally got to meet Jacks and Blake, and Jean (TxBassLady), and all the other great folks as well.  Big Dan is a riot, but dangerous if paired up with Mr. Happy....it's just downright immoral to laugh that hard!  Rat-Lee-Norm was great fun, and his wife is the sweetest thing...of course I'm not sure how that drunk ended up with someone that good Wink  Got to visit with JDH, Thomas, Gore2424, Gena and her kids and hubby.  Woobie was just as excited in person as she was here on the board!  And Cerebus makes identical facial expressions to Bill Cosby!  Jminmilwaukee (Jeff who everyone calls Jim Wink ) and his supporter were a great pair!

I wish I'd gotten more time to visit with Karla and Ted,  BlueMeanie, Boonie and Callico Kid.  I will have to do that at the convention!

It was such a wonderful surprise to get to see our Lady Elaine Smiley  And having Mast there with Roxy almost made the roomies complete.  We missed you Linda!  Damn but I miss my roomies...  Cry

Once again it was an unforgettable experience that will go down in Iowa history Wink

Hope everyone has made it home safe and sound.  Wish we never had to say goodbye ... so until next time, be pain free.

BTW, I forgot to mention something earlier. I registered on this site on January 9, 2003 ... and exactly one year later (to the very day) I was sitting in a room filled with fellow clusterheads.

Hello everyone Terry here still in Davenport. Well I do live here lol. Friday thur Sunday was the best weekend I have had in many many years. It was so nice to meet everyone there. My wife was there friday nite and a little bit saturday evening (she works 3rd shift so had to leave about 7:30-8:00 to get nap before work) and she just thought it was the best thing for both of us to meet new people that also understand my pain. I didnt get a tatto so I put the $40.00 in a big glass jar to start saving for the convention in Nasville. Wife says its good for me to meet others and we can both leave town and take vacation that we havent done for about 8 years. Oh and on friday nite we brought granddaughter with us Olivia our little sweet cute angel. Ok enough rambling on talk to some of you in chat room. PF to everyone. Terry (gore2424)

You guys are awesome!!!  I really hated it that I only was there for about three hours, but in that time I was able to put a face on some of the suffering we all go through.  I agree with Bruce that if it were not for clusters I would never have had the opportunity to meet you wonderful people.  My family think I am nuts to drive six hours (round trip) just to spend three hours with you, but after having done so I know that I would drive six hours one way for the same opportunity.  Non clusterheads don't know what they are missing!

Sorry about the Chiefs and the Pack. Sad  (Don't let anyone from Chicago know I said that about the Pack! Grin)

Thanks Norm, Gina, Blake and Jacks, and yes you too Woobie.

Thanks to everyone who put this weekend together.  It was an absolutely great time.  As usual, any time spent with other clusterheads is amazing.  Seems like they all have pretty unique personalities.....might be lacking in the sense of humor department...LOLOLOLOL.

Woobs....your gift was so sweet...thank you!  Jeff...your gift was pretty cool too.....I was really thinking about it when they were holding the plane while they searched my suitcase and body for the third time...... Grin  Hate to say it woobsie...but they confiscated my scotch..... Cry.

Can we do this again next weekend?  And can Bruce Ken make more cheesecake?  Breakfast was wonderful Bruce.....thanks!

One thing I noticed....us clusterheads have some pretty great supporters, whether they are family, friends or other clusterheads.  I first learned this in NY, and was reminded again watching the group this weekend.  I don't know how they put up with us at times......but, thank God they do!

Going to go have the Iowa porch Atrium blues now........ Sad

Dunno how you two put up with it. Talk about a couple of non-smokers committed to the cause, may their cheesecake ever prosper. Clothes stunk of smoke so bad upon arrival at home, we decided to burn `em. No dice. So much tar, they only smouldered slowly for an hour. Wonderful benefit of these wing-dings........a 10% reduction in lung capacity. Beauty.

Sorry about the Packers thing. WTF........somebody had to lose.

Yep Jean, the smoke was a real killer. We put all of our "contaminated" clothing in the back of the truck for the ride home & it went straight to the washer. At least the ceiling in the atrium was high, otherwise we may have needed respirators. Hopefully Nashville will have a more outdoor setting (or at least one that has airflow). If not, then I guess you'll be seeing us with matching non-rebreather masks on 24/7  Grin

Oh no ... the word's out ... I'm wonderin' if Jonny is putting on his boots?  bash

Also, whatever became of that box? You know, the one that had the note that was being passed around for Jonny on Saturday night. Did it get sent, or did daylight temper the decision? Enquiring minds wanna know  laugh
