I thought That these poems should be posted.
THE CHILD
A TWINGE OF PAINI AM RUNNING THROUGH A DEAFENING FOGMY HEART POUNDS WITH FEARHE IS COMINGI LOOK BACK OVER MY SHOULDERMY ATTACKER CAN’T BE SEENI FEEL HIM CLOSE I LOOK AHEAD THERE HE ISHE GRABS MY SHOULDERS HE FORCES HIMSELF INTO MY HEAD HIS STEEL STUDDED CLEATS DIG IN MY SKULL IS HIS RACE TRACK A MEAT GRINDER SHREADS MY BRAINI BEAT MY HEAD TO FORCE THE INTRUDER OUT A TEAR ROLLS DOWN MY TORTURED FACE MY CHILDREN KNOW“MOMMY HAS A HEADACHE AGAIN”MY HEART BREAKSTHE CARTOONS GO OFF THEY BECOME THE MOMI BECOME THE CHILD THE CHILD RUNNING THROUGH THE DEAFENING FOG
DEMONS
MY DEMONS SLEEP WITH ME IN MY BED OF THORNS.
THEY GUIDE MY THOUGHTS, AND ALWAYS KEEP ME IN REACH.
THEY PINCH MY SPINE TO STIR MY SLEEP, AND FILE DOWN MY NERVES WHILE I AM AWAKE.
THEY CHALLENGE MY HEART TO BEAT, AND MY EYES TO SEE.
THEY DEVOUR MY SOUL, AND SAVOR THEIR REVENGE.
