Facial numbness & tingly sensations

I am newly diagnosed. Had MRI/MRA, brain is normal. (I remind my husband of that, despite what he may think sometimes!) Anyway, fortunately for me, I don't have a lot of pain, (that came on in short bursts at my temple in the beginning) but I get the tingly sensations and numbness in various areas of my face. Had the eye pressure for about a month, that has let up but still want to wipe at the corner of my eye for any tears. Dr. gave me Imitrex - a little scared to take it just for the annoying tingly sensations. Just wonder what anyone thinks.

| I get no numbness just pain.Woody take the cluster quiz left side of the board. If the dr gave you imitrex pills it takes about 30-40 mins to kick in.Most of us on the board take imitrex injections works in about 10 mins. They also have imitrex nasal spray if you don't like needles

Hi Woody, Yes as Cbolony says, take the quiz. I dont experience numbness either, CH is EXTREME pain. I've never heard anyone with CH describe it as annoying tingly sensations. Wishing you good luck, suzy

Woody - have heard of others describe the same feelings minus the pain. . My take on this is save the imitrex untill you really need it and adapt to the annoyance if it doesnt greatly interupt your life. The trex "may" add some pain. In otherwords dont mess with a good thing in comparison to some here. Thats just my view and I take no meds as I felt often they made things worse.

When I get a real barn burner ch, my lips and teeth will tingle. I was told it was the begining of hyper- ventilating(sp). When I feel this I try to slow my breathing, and seems to help. Any body else have any thing similar to this? Jeff.
