Went outside of work to catch a smoke...and I saw a huge plume of smoke coming from the NY City area....Scared the hell outta me. I immediately turned on the radio and called my wife. (Smoke was coming from exactly the same direction as it was on 9/11.) Found out it was a huge tanker or barge explosion right off Staten Island. Looks like it was just an accident. Hope everybody is ok up there. Let us know how it's going... Jim

I live in Staten Island and work about 4 miles from there. I was just walking in the door when the ground shook, saw a hugh, hugh black cloud which seemed to be right above my house (though it wasnt). Knocked all the phone lines out, no cell phones were working either. It was a little scary until we were able to hear on the radio what happened. You would have thought boss would have let us go home. yea right. Anyways, thanks for the concern. This Staten Islander is fine. suzy
