My question is on Serotonin and it role in cluster headaches. In my last posts I told you that I am on Topamax (150 2x day) and some of you said that it had caused depression well I have experienced that depression and I am taking Lexapro for and it is working on the depression. With that said the of the last posts those involved know that the headaces are worse 3 a day 4-5 a week for the past month and 1/2. Now because of depression and being on lexapro it has increased my Serotonin level.... Is it the Serotonin increase that has increased by headaches? Or Depression, or is it the headaches themselves causing the depression?

I would guess that it's just the nature of the beast. 3 attacks a day, 7 days a week, is not unusual for clusters. Serotonin - since drugs like Imitrex are serotonin agonists, ie they act like serotonin, I would think a rise in serotonin levels would be benificial.
