Kewlness!! Thanks Don, that's one more thing I can cross off on my list of convention things to do and people to contact Any idea how long it will take for the grant? I know last years didn't make it in time, but I don't know when it was sent. Cat

Let's see if I have this right. Step 1. GlaxoSmithKline manufactures a product and sells it to a Canadian pharmacy and earns a large profit. Step 2. The product is no longer the property of GlaxoSmithKline but the property of the Canadian pharmacy. The Canadian pharmacy raises the price to make a large profit by selling it to Americans. Step 3. The product is now the property of the American. He/she swallows the product and it is gone. Step 4. The American now has to go back to the Canadian pharmacy. Step 5. Go back to Step 1. Make a product that can only be used once, charge a high price for it, make a huge profit. Repeat over and over and over, X's thousands of people in pain. Then whine that your own customers don't sell your product (that you no longer own) at a tremendous mark-up. Sounds like the American way to me. Good old Capitalism at it's best. Charlie's right.

Great...so if they stop selling it here in Canada, I'm going to have to go across the border where my money is worth nothing to buy my meds? and of course my insurance company will no longer cover those meds cause they were illegally obtained. Sounds like fun! Sounds very humane.... hmmmmm better start stocking up! hugs Ann

Uhh…….Thank you GlaxoSmithKline for your contribution last year and for your anticipated contribution this year. GlaxoSmithKline recognizes the clusterheads, THAT, will eventually affect the insurance companies. No one will be interested in Cluster Headaches until they can make money off of us. They can’t make money off of us until we exist. Join OUCH and BE COUNTED (It’s Free), David J.

My girlfriend works in a pharmacy here in Holland. She told my once that the price of an Imitrex box (has two shots in it) is 60 gulden. This is +/- 27,= Euro, so just about the same in American dollars. Maybe we can send it to you guy's... ;D Seriously, this sucks!!! It can't understand that people want to make as much money as possible of needing people. PFDAN, Rik

Oh yeah, Pharma companies only count with big numbers. Here some of the 2002 results from Novartis: Gross turnover: 32.41 billion CHF (23.82 billion $) [from pharmaceuticals alone: 20.18 GCHF (14.83 G$)] Net profit: 7.31 GCHF (5.37 G$), that's a mere 22.6% of the turnover Daniel Vasella, the big boss of Novartis, got only 3 million CHF (2.2 million $) in cash, for the rest of his "salary" of 20.1 million CHF (14.8 million $) he had to make do with company stock. When ask in a TV interview if his salary wasn't a bit on the high side, Vasella said, no he was deserving it to the last cent. No wonder Novartis does not depend on making a few bucks more from clusterheads and therefore dropped a small fry like Sansert/Deseril....

Good work Don. I don't particularly care who they are, OUCH will take their money. Cat - took about 6 months last year to receive the grant. The guy did mention that we could perhaps make it an annual thing so lets hope they continue to come through. I look at it this way, the money Glaxo is giving to OUCH is profit they took from the meegrainers. Feels a lot better that way.

| I'll say! I guess the point of the post was missed? GlaxoSmithKline has contributed $2500 in the past, they may donate again to help us Seems like an inroad to me. If a conscencous says they are evil, I will politely decline any further grants from them.

No doubt these guys operate like our stupid government. Different sections of this corporate behemoth have no idea what the other does. ie: contributions/litigations. The exploration of restricting sales to discounters idea though, comes from the top. The thing is, this kind of shit is everywhere. The robber barrons are having a field day. Wouldn't be nice if there were some clusterheads among these corporate felons....... Charlie
