Cluster headaches ?? Help

Hi everyone, Just found htis website a couple of weeks ago. Don't know for sure if this is my problem, but after taking the cluster quiz I'm pretty sure. Have spent a few thousand dollars in the past couple of years with my dentist thinking it was (TMD). Had teeth extracted, nite gard, bite alignment. Headaches went away for about 7 months and then returned. Have been suffering these unbearable pains for roughly 10 years. Saw my doctor ( General pracitioner) a couple of months ago. He prescribed some Vicodin. No help. Pain usually lasts from 10 minutes to an hour about 3-5 times a week. Have done a lot of dancing. How do I convince my doctor or myself that CH is the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Harold ??? ???

Have you told you GP that you think you have CH? If so, did he/she dismiss it? I would get an appointment with a neurologist. Try to find one that is familiar with CH. Until you can get to the neuro, become familiar with this site. There is a ton of information in the archives that you will find useful. The folks here are amazing. The information that they can give you for help in treating this condition is terific. Visit the OUCH site. The link is on the left habd side of this page highlighted in yellow. Welcome aboard. Hi, Told my GP that I thought I had CH. a couple of weeks ago. He wasn't convinced. Think I'll call him tomorrow and see if he will sent me to a neurologist. The joys of having PacifCare. Thanks, Harold

Harold, if you vivit the OUCH site (yellow button on the left) you can also find a list of ch-friendly docs. May be helpful. And sadly welcome here, but you have fallen amongst the best specialist in the country, lol.

Ask for a sample of imatrex... if you get hit take it and see if it aborts... In my headache experience... if its sinus or teeth pain... the imatrex wont work and if its meningitis it wont work. Imatrex will abort a migraine or a CH attack... ((sometimes it doesnt if your in the peek of your cycle)) but its worth the chance to see... Start to log your Headaches also and see if they form a cycle... also do your Headaches wake you up out of a sound sleep?or... come on during a relaxing time??? Tell your doctor all of the information you have as well as information you get here... to qualify yourself in the game that no one wants to play... Welcome to our family~~~ let us know what happens... Ree
