Last bout was 2005...was hoping they were gone forever...fat chance. Woke me up at 0300 and lasted 45-50 minutes. I'll be looking to get an oxygen bottle asap. Any new preventive meds out I can ask my doctor for? Does anyone remember me from then...I'm Conrad..? Wish I had my mom to talk to about these for support...she passed in 2005...was always there to listen. Look forward to any info you may have for me. God bless.

Welcome back...damned sorry he found you again. Not sure what you were using in the past, definitely get that oxygen though, 30 years of fighting with him and oxygen is still my frontline abort. For prevent, lithium at 1200 mg a day is still very effective for me when on cycle, blocking 80-90% depending on how strict I am with triggers. Hoping you get a short cycle! Guiseppi

Hi Conrad, I'm sorry the beast has come back to trouble your sleep again. We can't replace your mom but we're here to listen and offer what help we can. In the meantime, please look at this info. It's the latest in treatment options. If you onto Oxygen then it sounds like your info is pretty up to date. http://www.plainboard.com/ch/chtherapy.pdf http://www.efns.org/files/guideline_49.pdf So welcome back, read up and ask away. I hope you find a plan the works real soon. -Dennis-

Conrad- Dennis' post with the link to the medical info - check that link out- that is what i printed out and read and helped me feel more in control- helped me pick a different neuro when i realized the first had me on wrong meds Everyones different - but i take 660 mg of verap ( spread out thru the day) had o2, and used various triptans at different periods of the cycle ( immitrex - the whole gammut of types) frova, and zomig) For me I like frova the best as a triptan- more used preventatively, so read read read- but especially read the link to help you and your doctor plan a course of action good luck to you kelly
