I am finally entering my 1st post. I have been coming to the Clusterhead site for years. I was always in such pain that typing a post was impossible for me until now. My name is Andrea (pronounced Andre' uh) I started suffering from Clusters in Fall of 1979. Chronic Clusters - 29 years I'm 43. (Yes, I'm old but I don't look it. My beauty secret is all the thousands of different meds I have taken for my Clusters.) I have been a patient of Dr. Joel Saper @ Michigan Head Pain & Neurological Institute since the start of my Clusters which was also the start of his practice. He was the one to diagnose what this was for me. I have been hospitalized twice by him. I have had Clusters during every season. My cycles are always at least 9 mo. at a time. I have lived in several states and still had them. I have had then during two pregnancies. (Ladies, I will tell you what your Dr. won't about meds.) My attacks start randomly at night waking me from my sleep. Then increased to 8-10/attacks daily. I have taken everything from oxygen, lithium, herbs, biofeedback, relaxation, Dr. Saper's injected protocols, and more. Oct. 2006, God answered my prayer and sent me a miracle. I am receiving a physical healing from my Clusters. My healing did not happen instantly. (I wish it could have.) I am med free for the 1st time in 29 years. I have experienced 1 year (2007) without Clusters. I"M FREE!!!!!!! I am writing to share my experience of Clusters with you and my journey of being healed so that you may also receive your healing. You are in a fight, You can be free from this torment, You can win! Forever!!! The Bible says....Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalm 103:2-5 Believe you can be Healed from Clusterheadaches, because you can now talk to someone who has. Lord I praise you for all those who will be healed from the torment of Clusterheadaches, use my hands to serve you on this website and show my love for them. I will give you all Praise Glory and Honor. In Jesus name I pray. Andi

Welcome to the board, please give us a detailed explanation of what it was that worked for you. I'm fortunate in that lithium as a prevent with oxygen, cafergot, and the occasional imitrex jab as abortives, keep me relatively stable. Many others aren't as fortunate as me and would love to hear something else they can try. Guiseppi

I'm hoping you don't know a guy named International Bob (or something like that. ) Hmmm. well..... I've been in remission for two years now. Do I think they're gone? <Looks around. > I doubt it. I think it's fine to do the happy dance--but personally, I'd keep my powder dry. Best, George

Andrea, You've been treated by one of the best at MHNI. I've been there. We're so happy you've gone into remission. Take care, V/R, Batch

I had a four year remission once, don't know why. I think that's just the way it is sometimes. Glad you're PF now - hope your luck holds.

Sounds like Andrea had a religious experience. Glad it worked for her. For me, I think I used the Lord’s name in vain too many times during too many cluster attacks. I don’t believe He’s listening to me any more..

Maybe Andrea...pronounced, Andre' uh doesn't realize that lots of us are...um...one with the Lord so to speak and YET...we still suffer. BobG, if God punishes you for swearing and cussing during an attack tell him to come see me. I'll set him straight. so Andrea...it sure woould be nice to hear from you.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I have been managing spontaneous nosebleeds today. Part of my journey has involved sinus surgeries and antibiotics for 14 days. Just recovering for my latest sinus surgery which was Friday. I had a revisioned endoscopic sinus surgery and turbinectomy done. That's reason for the nosebleeds. I can handle these over clusters any day. I'm one of those detailed types who has to understand why? For me, I was determined to understand what caused my trigeminal nerve to trigger my autonomic nervous system. No one thing was a trigger. Whenever I would think one thing.... testing showed it to be fine. No Allergies, Blood tests always normal, MRI normal, no infections.........Psych test fine.....Well, You get the point! My constent use of Verapamil was a big hidden problem to getting my autonomic nervous undercontrol. Shoot.....Noseblooding bad!!!! .......Got to get ice/elevate nose. I'll explain more later. Andi

| Hi, Andi. I am glad you have had a year remission from ch. I am not sure what you are trying to say. But I am happy for your remission. Are you trying to share what helped you? Or are you just excited to be here? You have lost me. I am not sure what you are trying to say. Good luck, and I hope you are able to enjoy being free of cluster headache while dealing with your other health problems. Charlotte
