... to pay $3.579 for a gallon of gas! Usually it is about $3.759 around here. I can VERY clearly remember back in 1973, selling my 1969 Thunderbird, with its HUGE gas guzzler engine, and 28 (I think) gallon gas tank, because it cost me a whole NINE DOLLARS to fill the tank, when empty! Now it costs me (or should I say, the COMPANY) around a hundred dollars to fill my van's tank! How can I be so happy at paying $3.579? I guess the oil companies have successfully brain washed me! Yeah I hear ya. we're paying 159.9 c/litre here in Perth. Let's convert that. 1 liter = 0.264 172 052 36 gallon [US, liquid](although I was sure they were litres.... Anyhooo) 1 Australian Dollar = 0.93674 US Dollar ok, so for 1 gallon (3.785 411 784 gallon) we're paying about $6 Aus. translate that to USD, and we're at $5.67 per gallon. So, how about them fuel prices? You guys sure are getting ripped off, aren't you???!!!!

Chucklzz... What you say makes sense! They have brainwashed us to be happy with any tiny little drop in price, even if it leaves the remaining price to be absolutely outrageous! I have a relatively small car, and it costs over $50 to fill it up right now, which I think is just insanity. I think twice before spending that much money on a random retail item, but I don't have a choice when it comes to the car! I'm just lucky that I'm not driving a whole lot right now - maybe I'll miss the worst of the peak prices.....not likely! Hugz, Carrie

Exactly. Ed Schultz was talking about this a long time ago. Back when $2.25 was extremely painful, he said it's gonna feel like a heck of a bargain. Hell, $3 sounds like a heck of a bargain now.
