Congrats! Make sure to post a pic. We like pics around here...LOL I used to do beautiful communion/confirmation cakes - I would even put little doves, a rosary on it, and a tiny plastic bible...it was my best selling cake. Langa

This isn't a religious topic. It's about a young lad going through a rite of passage. Its an achievement. Congratulations Christopher.

Hiya Jim, I remember only TWO things about my first communion. One, I'm a BIG boy now! Two, it was REALLY neat to "meet" the Archbishop of Seattle. He was old, had a BIG nose, AND a really cool "uniform". I was awestruck. Never asked Mom/Dad/Nannie/Gramps how they felt, but suspect it was a BIG day for them too. Great memories of an important passage in life. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations Christopher. May you have treasured memories too. Regards, Jon

I remember mine like it was yesterday. Can you maybe print the responses here to show him and there-fore make it even more special for him? Congratulations Christopher on all the hard work to get to this day. May it be filled with peace and pride in a job well done. Bet you didn't have the "nuns" I did in my Catechism class. Iremember mine so clearly, my lovely little white bible and prayer book, my dress and veil and shoes and feeling like a little queen beforehand.. and then in Westminster Cathedral with Cardinal Heenan who was wonderful. He used to come into our school all the time for visits and we all adored him. I remember how solemn it all was and how nervous I was kneeling at the rail and when he came to me it felt like he gave me a special smile and I smiled right back and all my nerves were gone! Words fail me describing how I felt walking back to my pew but I felt radiant. We then had a big party at school afterwards with angel cake amongst other things and also a party at home. It was so special, it was better than Christmas and I couldn't wait for next Sunday! Christopher, it's 37 years since I made my first holy communion, I was five years old and I remember it so clearly. It was really, really special for me and still is. I hope when you are 42 that you have someone to share your memories of Sunday with I'm looking forward to seeing your photo's and I know you'll make us all proud of you. I made my first holy communion in May too as it is always a special month being the month of Mary. I'm glad we're sharing that too lots of love Helen xxx
