Telephone Company.. Anyone had this problem?

I got my telphone bill and .... In December I signed up for a "Bundle" package including telephone, DSL and Dish TV for a "SET" rate -- I asked the nice man "several times" about the amount. "Is this going to be my bill EACH month?" to which he replied each time, "Yes!" Well, so far it hasn't been that amount YET! Yesterday I lost my cool and said some very unlady like words to the nice lady on the other end of the phone. Seems that the Dish TV is seperate from the phone bill and she was giving me some BS about that. But that wasn't what "Johnathan" said in December!!! "Well, I'm sorry about that, but this is how it is!" "NO DAMN WAY!! That's lying!!!" "I can switch you to Dish TV and you can take it up with them." Then she cut me off!!! I really got hot then! (You know how long it takes to get a HUMAN on the phone?) So I got mad and filed a complaint with the FCC. This is ridiculous. It's advertised on their website and then they TELL you this when you sign up (they don't even have a damn office out here in the boondocks) and you think ok that sounds like a winner and then they gig you and it's the only service available out here. This just isn't right!!! I may be getting my Senator involved in this one, but my blood pressure went up about 50 points on this one. Hell, it was cheaper when I had three different services than their cost-saving package! Hugs BD

| There's your key word. "Yes ma'am. I see the word "bundle" but am still looking for the word "value" in your agreement. Nope, it just says "bundle", our promotional rate is a "bundle"." The clinching question when interviewing for employment for cable, airline, and other customer service positions is, "How do you handle irate customers?" A rising percentage of calls these days as companies extract more from customers and have customer service iron it out at low wages, if not from India or the Philippines.

Come Feb 2009 rabbit ears will be useless as by federal law all broadcast signals are required to be digital. So if we don't convert, we are without TV. I'm torn between if I'm going to purchase a new TV or just increase my netflix subscription.

| Not to worry Pegg. The gooberment is giving out coupons worth $40 towards the purchase of a converter box that should make your old tv work okay. The converter boxes are expected to run anywhere from $40 - $75. To request a coupon, consumers can apply online at www.dtv2009.gov. There is also a 24-hour hotline to take requests, 1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009). Edited to add: Supposedly, people with cable service should not have to worry about getting a converter. Supposedly.

My HR director's husband owns an electric appliance store including TV's. According to Fred,... Cable signals are irrelivant at this point because they send signals that can be read by both analog and digital interal tuners. In order to get a digital signal there has to be an internal digital tuner in the TV. It's still all very confusing to me, and although there are the coupons Mike, part of the reason I'm torn also is that I'm debating i I shold quit watching TV altogether. There are few network shows I watch.

Do you have a signed contract or work order specifying exactly what the "bundle" is supposed to consist of?

I have to have a digital box to get HBO of course. No way am I going get an HDTV until my old RCA craps out. By then, maybe they'll cost less than a new kitchen. What a con. I think you can get a box along with some kind of government rebate for something like forty bucks or so. Rabbit ears sounds good to me. DVD time. Charlie
