How about an air ambulance?  Jimbo is a volunteer firefighter, so he keeps his radio on when he's off work.  He heard a call that there had been an emergency (young man has a brain tumor and has/had seizures and they couldn't get them under control~haven't heard how he's doing) a few houses up from us and the helicopter needed to land to transport the patient.  We have a pasture next to the house that is fairly unobstructed, so he called and told them to land here.
