The hope would be by the time the toddler is in sixth grade, he should be more than smart enough to trash his parent's influencing wannabe gang crap that loses it's thrill luster after grade school, unless he drops out at that age.

Ahhh...tiz true, tiz true. At this very moment my two teens are with their gang, hold up for the weekend at one location for 54 hours in an intence test of fidelity to the gang and the cause.
Computers and reference books at the ready this gang, The Sushi Stalkers, is hunkered down to go to war in a battle of wits and useless knowlege against 450+ other gangs numbering 10,00+ total members in the 39th annual WAR OF THE WORLD of Trivia.
They are battling notorious gangs such as "The Network" who are the alpha gang, BeerPigs, Knights of Neek, Tin Man, and the Franklin Street Burnouts.
11 members strong, Sushi Stalkers are a first year war participant gang I wish them well and that they survive the 54 hour trial by trivial mental fire semi-unscathed and fully sleep deprived.

Here, if you want to get a dog or animal from a rescue society they vet you. They do their best to make sure animals are only given to people who will give them a good life and have the space and time to take care of them.
Don't get me wrong, this is good and right BUT.. why do KIDS deserve less??

And I was considering getting my nephew a trampoline for his 4th birthday this summer...
I'm a terrible aunt.
I'm going to have to check out the Bridgend gangs to find out what initiations they'll put him through on his birthday and then choose the toughest bad-a$$ gang for him, where he'll learn to use knives and guns and wear jeans down around his ankles.

To think of the terrible fights ahead for that poor family! Decisions between 9mm or 45! Should juniors first (age 10) be a head shot or slow bleed? Just think of all the heartache they will have when the economy is down and Jr's drug sales are down and their retirement is on shaky grounds! The one bright light in all this is Jr. will have a taxpayer paid solid education with 3 good meals, a warm bed, be able to be in top physical condition, have cable TV and conduct buisness as usual until he is out of "college"

Tony, think about the times humankind has been at it's best....it is when nature throws it's worst at us. Not with wars or violence produced by man but catastrophys. Perhaps a few good asteroid impacts, a 9+ earthquake here and there just to remind the human race life is short and pretty fragile. The spirit is there, we just need a reason to use it.

I agree entirely, the problem here is that the State will probably be protecting the parents rights rather than the kids right because they are big enough to protest while the poor child has no voice.
