This was my last week: Last Friday Harry's first day, our first look at each other. Saturday Learning to walk Sunday Tweedlebug, my little man Monday The day the training wheels came off Tuesday Tough guy who went over the handlebars Wednesday The first date/dance Thursday A young man and his old girl Today. My son moved out. I feel like someone sucked all the air out of my lungs. edit to add: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-SAFk0j-f4c

It seems we work all their lives to make them strong and independent. To make sure they know right from wrong. Then they do it. They leave us behind to make their own way in the world. And it cuts deeply. Pride and emptiness felt in equal measure dizzying in their depth. Nice tribute Jen. Great looking kid. You done good. Now go take a break. Looks like you've earned it -Dennis- (who just watched his 17 y/o daughter driver off in her 1st car)

| It's the natural order of things. Would we rather they lived in our basement until they're 50? Of course it's bittersweet. We hope and pray we've done most of our job right. But if they're leaving as they just become adults, chances are they're going to be fine. They need to spread their wings and fly. And so will you, Jen. You too, Dennis.

My youngest left home for the Marine Corps this year. That was just gut renching for me. I cried for weeks. My oldest two: one has been married for two years and the other just made me a grandmother two months ago. I am loving it now. It is so wonderful to have them out of the house and have my liberties back and to be able to come and go as I want, reduction in bills, etc. Of course being a Grandmother has aged me some but he is sooo cute and adorable and I get to see him several times a week so there are some rewards in having them gone. You will adjust in time.

My mind has been in this mood ever since the pictures of Marco looking at his new baby sister. I swear I have that exact same pose when we were in the hospital with Lisa. Ryan was looking into her bassinet with such pride. Don't know where the time went!! That was 1985. When Ryan left for college I was a wreck. I felt like I had my heart ripped out. My older sister had been through it a few times and spent hours consoling me. She called it reverse child birth. It did get easier somehow and he's now in Hawaii. Hugs to you Jen!! Charlotte

our children are a loan from God, He lets us have them, feed them, raise them, educate them and love them, but we must be ready to let our arms open and let them go t fly for themselves ...it hurts but look what a wonderful human being you have created, now it is time for him to have a creation of his own...then you get to spoil rotten those creations and give them back to him.. You should be proud of your creation Hugs Rosy.

Time does seem to pass too fast. I have one out of the house already and two more will probably go within the next 5 years. Enjoy all those moments while they are young, cause it is gone in a blink. Beth
