Well, it appears like there is a lot of backpeddaling by Obama now. Does anyone really believe that Mr. Obama attended this church for 20 years and didn't agree with what was preached from the pulpits? For starters, and this is just me, but if I heard my minister use God's name in vain, I'm afraid that I'd have to leave that congregation. And, for what it's worth, I've walked out of numerous churches because I didn't like what the minister preached or what the congregations believed. If for any reason, anybody hasn't heard what's going on (and I might have to believe you lived in a cave far up in the Andes if you haven't), here's a link http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4443788 http://newsmax.com/kessler/Obama_hate_America_sermon/2008/03/16/80870.ht ml

| First, Sen. Obama had to become electable on the south side of Chicago. Now he has to become electable across the US. Need to change his tune? That doesn't even begin to describe it.

CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS? This is very interesting! We all need to read it from start to finish, Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Theologically - no. . . . Bec ause his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia. Religiously - no. . . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256) (Koran). Scripturally - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran. Geographically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day. Socially - no. . . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews. Politically - no. . . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan. Domestically - no. . . . Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34). Intellectually - no. . . . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles, and he believes the Bible to be corrupt. Philosophically - no. . . .. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic. Spiritually - no. . . . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names. < /DIV> Therefore after much study and deliberation, perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans. * * * Call it what you wish; it's still the truth. * * * You had better believe it. * * * The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. And Barack Hussein Obama, a Muslim, wants to be our President? You HAVE to be kidding?! Wake up America! Guiseppi

Sorry Joe, I must disagree with that post. As a JEWISH person who is friends with quite a few devoubt MUSLIMS it is misprints and misinterpretations like the above that make people scared. There are fanatics in all religions. PERIOD! There are fanatical Jewish sects that believe that there should not be an Israel because certain things written in the Torah and other scriptures have not occurred as of yet. Anyway, I was brought up with the mindset that as a Jewish person , I have absolutely NO right to have an incling of bigotry in me because as a member of the most persecuted people in history it is important to be tolerant and understand every culture and religion that I possibly could. Sorry to hijack. Just my opinion as a Proud American who belongs to a minority

Delta gotta agree with you on this one -- only I usually said my piece before I walked out... (and loudly). Have told a few preachers to go to hell (know that's hard for some of you to believe knowing how I never state an opinion on anything... ). But if you don't like what's being preached - you just don't sit in a church for 20 years saying "amen". Somethin' just don't wash right on this one.... And now we've got the black/white issue all in a wad again. He was still in diapers when some of us were sitting at lunch counters and fighting for "him" to be able to run for president. Give me a break. We're not gonna change people's minds about how they feel about races - let's get back to the economy and health care and something we can do something about for goodness sakes. Tell me something I don't know..... Hugs BD

Guiseppi I know there are no good candidates to vote for out there- 'Where is Pat Paulson when you need him'- But get your facts straight Obama isn't a Muslim. And this is not a Christian Nation or a Theocracy. "Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law." — Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814 http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/obama.asp All the best, Dan

I don't care what religion he subscribes to (and yes, it is a misstatement to say he is Muslim). What I have a problem with is the hypocricy and the tapdancing that follows. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.

I dunno. I never took the whole thing very seriously but I guess Obama has created his swift boat thing for the Republicans. Of course this same bunch of Republicans called McCain a traitor and an adulterer when in Vietnam during the primary. Charlie
