I made a crockpot full of beef stew. Pat made a Nesco full of beef and cabbage soup, crusty bread, and a lemon poppyseed torte. Think I'll have a little of each.

Yep. Lets you take tough, cheap cuts of meat and cook 'em for 6-8 hours so they become tender and flavorful.

| Paul cooked corned beef and cabbage for me when I was there last. It is NOTHING like what we call corned beef here which is just ghastly shit I can honestly say I could live on that, corned beef, cabbage carrots and boiled potaotes. It doesn't get much better! The real Irish version is bacon and cabbage but a lump of bacon, or gammon as some would call it I suppose. I love that too.

| Thanks Helen! I just told my Andrea that I wanted the bacon I was supposed to get with my corned beef and cabbage and to get back in the kitchen. -Dennis- ( Who'll be eating his meals through a straw for the next six weeks )
