I thought we were going to die!

We were listening to the weather and cooking out on the porch. Tornado's were to the east of us we were not worried. In a split second it started to rain not heave just a light rain. The hail started falling. Buddy and Deveny and JD ran for the closet with the two little dogs. I ran and grabbed one of the big dogs threw her in the closet and ran back for the other dog. We have four. It sounded like someone was hammering the roof and walls. I made it back to the closet. JD was praying, God don't let us die today. For a good five minutes we sat in the closet praying. We came out and what we saw was scary. The whole yard was white. White fog was all around the house and yard, coming off the hail. The bamboo curtain on the porch was tore to shreds. The back side of our home has holes all through the siding! The air conditioner has big dents in it. The Camper has hail damage on the whole back side and front. Devenys Car has dents on her hood. The truck has dents on the side. Our gift from IRS will go toward the deductibles on everything. We didn't take any pictures of the car and truck darkness hit before we could get it all taken. Go here to see what pictures we took. As my Grandson said as we walked out of the closet and looked outside. Thank you God for not taking us today. http://picasaweb.google.com/dirtraodtoheaven

Very glad to hear nobody was hurt. I definitely know the horrors of hail storms. We live in west Texas. The land of cotton, dust, hail, and tornadoes. yeeeeehaw! Those are some incredible pictures. Sorry for all your losses. But thankful everyone's ok.

"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

We lost power right after I posted this last night. We were very Lucky. There were some killed in the tornado's. They found one couple 500 ft from their home, the house was completely leveled. They raised dogs and had a 100 dogs in kennles, only 8 were found alive. Friday Atlanta was hit, took the roof off the Ga doom during a game day Friday. Ga was hit for two days in a row. More storms coming in Wed. But Monday though Wednesday will be nice. The red cross is out delivering food to the people that was hit the hardest. Help for those that need it has come fast here. Our damage can wait we are so lucky. I am praying for those who lost their homes and the family's that lost love ones. Please send vibes and prayers to them. We are going out to see what other damage we have.

Elaine, Glad to see that y'all are safe. It was quite interesting here Friday night. Jimbo and his boss were driving back from Baton Rouge (they had driven down that morning, spent half a day in meetings and drove back). This storm literally came *out of the blue* (weather service didn't predict it). I had walked outside because the wind was picking up. Then our weather radio started blaring out severe storm warnings, which quickly progressed to storm warnings. At least 2 tornadoes were spotted by storm watchers. We got lucky, no tornado got us (at least one time, the NOAA radio alert indicated that we were in the direct path of a storm/tornado). Poor Jimbo got home, didn't even get in the door good, when his radio went off alerting them to a fire. Scared the devil out of me, knowing he was going out to fight a fire in that crap. Had no damage at my house, not even any hail. Again, Elaine, glad everybody is okay. All I can say now, is, batten down the hatches, because it's still early in the season. Another link to the damage in Atlanta. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/15/storm.atlanta/index.html#cnnSTCPhoto
