Random stuff....

Hey, been out a couple weeks, been busy.

Whole family is got the flu, again. Anyone got any info / opinions on if being in cycle and on meds increases the chances of one getting / staying sick? I've not been sick as often as I have been this year and I am wondering if any part of the cycle has anything to do with it. I am on verapamil currently and it really seems to make my body ache.......

My friend is going to my neuro today to find out that he has CH for sure. He certainly has it, he stopped over the other day to show me his new driver's licence picture - he's got the "left eye droop" going on in his licence picture - I nearly died laughing. Not sure or not if he will sign up here or not. |There is a bit too much drama here for him I guess but we will see.

Sad note. My grandma died Saturday. When I was little I lived next door and spent more time over there (cookies) than home. My mom is the oldest child of a lot of them, and I the oldest grandchild by a lot. In fact I have an uncle that is a year younger than me, so i was treated more like a kid, than a grandkid. "Dra-ma" was great to me: This will be a tough one. My Aunt died at 54 on Halloween and now this. They are getting to remember our names at the funeral home....

The hard part for me is I have come to the understanding that my Mom is now the "Grandma" of the family, adn she has been for the last decade as Grandma as been pretty old. This means that I am too have been "bumpd up", and that is hard for me. I like being the little kid, but those days are gone and they have been, I've just not noticed it (or maybe I just didn't want to acknowledge it).

On the plus side my brother is coming to town with his little boy and Taylor and I are taking them to Country Springs (where the Milwaukee conventions was) to frolic in the waterpark tomorrow.

I'm snow plowing towards 50 and my YOUNGEST graduates from colleg this spring...I hear you on the getting bumped up thing...I never wanted to be a grown up!

As far as getting sick on cycle, when I was using prednisone a lot, it seemed to weaken my immune system and I got sick a lot more often. Other then that I haven't sena relationship. Although if you're getting creamed I suspect the lack of sleep and just general exhaustion would work against you.

Sorry about the double slam in the family. Old ones die and new are born.....it's a constant cycle but when it hits home it huts like hell. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

And stick with your buddy, I still say he's blessed to have a buddy who helped him get a diagnosis so quick!

Sounds like you have your hands full there.  I'm sorry for your recent losses and elevation to adult status.  Like Guiseppi says, it's the cycle of life.

I've not noticed any affect either way from Verapamil on my immune system.  Colds come and go like normal.  This years version of the flu is a kicker though.

Enjoy the waterpark tomorrow.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there like 10 feet of snow on the ground with temps hovering in the minus numbers in Milwaukie?

I figured it must be.  Either that, or little kids in Wisconsin are as tough as polar bears.  Shocked

As you might be able to tell by my previous post (ended with a comma), I meant to add my condolences on the loss of your grandmother.
