Maybe somebody knows...

...what this is all about. As Boston police prepare to go into some of the city's most dangerous neighborhoods, knock on doors of private houses, and ask if they can search for illegal guns without a warrant, officials are trying to pitch the idea of the plan as friendly cooperation to residents who still see it as a threatening intrusion. Continued at link above.

Welcome to the peoples republic of Massachusetts. Where Big Brother now has a shiny new set of keys to your house. The residents of the targeted neighborhoods aren't willing to drop a dime on the problems in their midst so the local PD is hoping to stumble upon the weapons. Of course this presumes that it is not the people that are causing all the problems, its the weapons? WTF? -Dennis-

If my kids have guns in thier rooms it because I bought them for them. If I thought they had illegal guns I would be the one looking for them.

This was in the news about six weeks ago. They wont arrest you as long as the gun was not used in a crime....LOL

It's a weird thing, but oftentimes when people are asked whether they'll give consent to a search, they will--even when they have something they'd rather hide. It usually works best when it's a surprise and they don't have time to think it over. I will say that having cops in business suits, ministers, social workers, and who knows who all parading around the neighborhood asking if they can search somebody's house for guns gives it all the earmarks of an impending clusterf%ck. Maybe I'm wrong, but.... Best, George

That picture is hysterical. Also, the involvement of the clergy seems more suspicious to me than the intent of the police.

I do not understand, one of about 10,000,000 reasons I would never set foot in that screwed up state much less live there. They still revere that psycho/killer/drunken/women abusing Ted Kennedy. Guiseppi

| I live here but far from being part of the "they" you refer to. I'm being given a full run down of the proposed gun program tommorow at a meeting by the police commissioner. Should be interesting to say the least.

| I hope you hit em over the head with The Constitution Chewy !!! I am disturbed on many levels as it relates to this. The worst part is that there are people who think it's a good idea. "I dont need to catch a criminal bad enough to surrender all of MY rights" SIGH

It is kind of ironic I think that one of the more liberal states with some of the strictest gun control wants the police to search homes without a warrent. I would have thought the liberals would be screaming like stuck pigs about how their freedoms and liberties are being taken away. I'd like to see someone propose this idea in Montana. LOL -P.

Five minutes after the first door is entered an ACLU Atty. will be filing papers in a court. Until that happens its only a concept and the ACLU can only issue a commentary.

I knew about last year when it was still just a concept. I knew about the ACLU report. You didn't. I know its difficult for you but try and follow the logic. You cant legally challenge an action until that action has been implemented. Read my original ACLU post. Read it slowly so you can understand that I used the word "challenge". There...still....has....been...no....challenge....because..the...plan... hasn't....been......inplemented.
