I found Flickr and like it much better than Photobucket. Flickr allows a lot of photos to be stored free. Here is a set of my snare drum pictures that I have arranged. You can view your photos as a slide show on these pages I have. The advance button is on the right during the slide show to advance past any pic you dont want to see. Pretty kool for free !!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/22654690@N07/sets/72157603881824455 Here are our autos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22654690@N07/sets/72157603881832927/

I just started collecting them about 2 years ago Chewy. I didn't start playing until I was 40. I started collecting just about the time that prices were going way up on the old Tamas...sigh..

| Yeah Chewy I knew you played. I saw a programme on the manufacture of bag pipes. It was very interesting!!! A lot to hand crafting those things. No surprise they cost $1,500. I try to keep the snares under $400 each. I want a bell-brass Tama. It is like $1,200 new. Used less, which is fine with me..I think the older ones were better anyways. Hey Chewy, bagpipes look difficult to play like a saxaphone. How many fingerholes or reeds or tone controls do they have? Dave

There are 9 finger holes and 4 reeds. One in the chanter, 1 for the bass pipe and 2 tenors. Theres only 9 notes you can play on the pipes. Its complex because the pipes never stop playing and you have to fill in between the notes with grace notes, doublings, burls, and a lot of other shit I cant do yet. My instructor's pipes cost over 10 grand.

I've played the bass for 28 years, and I still only have one. No backup. Flyin' without a net. Livin' on the edge. I do keep two extra sets of strings in my goodie bag.

| Tony, each one has it's own tone so to speak. I use the metal ones for most rock stuff. Louder doesn't equal better. It's more the player than the drum. But there are enough subtle differences that I chose a snare I like for each of our original tunes that Dave wrote for us. The wood Monoply is kinda mushy and well....woody. It works well for stuff like: The Weight from The Band. The G-Brass for Godzilla from BOC, metal for most standard rock tunes. Wood for Beatles stuff. Just my opinions, means really nothing to others. Each drummer has his/her own ideas. Chewy, I don't doubt 10 grand. They looked like they could be made like a work of art...meaning hand crafted by artisans. Keep pushing Chewy, you'll eventually get to where you want to be. I know, I have a long ways to go myself and there really is no end to learning. There is so much to learn that the very best percussionists in the entire world call themselves "a work in progress" It takes such a great deal of dedication to get good and learn correctly, that I have learned humility as well as patience. Cheers, Dave

| I refuse to answer that on the grounds that I may jinx myself. Fortunately my bass has a built-in pre-amp, so if necessary, I could go direct into the board.

| Kool Charlie, glad you liked them. Yeah, the drums are a lot better than I am, but I practice a lot to kinda grow into em. I really like that Flickr It allows tons of pics free !! I haven't yet been asked to pay or been required to upgrade. I used to have a website I built and that was awesome. Could use it for Ebay and store tons of crap on it !! Cheers, Dave

I'll have to use something for ebay eventually. I had a good deal with my server. They let me keep a lot of stuff with them. I still use it. Ebay pix suck. I use a photoshop thing too. It's still March 2004 as far as they are concerned. Charlie
