IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck (written after she found out she was dying from cancer). I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day. I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would have talked less and listened more. I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or! the sofa faded. I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace. I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth. I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband. I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains. I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life. I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime. Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle. When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner!" There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's." But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it .. live it and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff. Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with. And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you all have a blessed day. Beautiful Women's Month Age 3: She looks at herself and sees a Queen. Age 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella. Age 15: She looks at herself and sees an Ugly Sister (Mum I can't go to school looking like this!) Age 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly"- but decides she's going out anyway. Age 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she's going out anyway. Age 40: She looks at herself and sees "clean" and goes out anyway. Age 50: She looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go. Age 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore, goes out and conquers the world. Age 70: She looks at herself & sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life. Age 80: Doesn't bother to look. Just puts on a purple hat and goes out to have fun with the world.

She was a really wise lady . I remember listening to her mono logs on the Good Morning America when I was younger and I loved her dry wit. (my mom always had it on in the morning while I was getting ready for school. ) A good friend sent me this today and I knew that all of us ladies here need to be reminded of the important stuff every now and then too. Love ya, Cluster Ladies. Very proud and happy to be one of you. Sufferer or Supporter, does not matter. Each suffers and each supports. Just remember to not take yourself to seriously. There is to much fun in laughing at ourselves. Here are a few more for you from the illustrious - Erma Bombeck One of my very favorite... -There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt. -I have a theory about the human mind. A brain is a lot like a computer. It will only take so many facts, and then it will go on overload and blow up. -Do you know what you call those who use towels and never wash them, eat meals and never do the dishes, sit in rooms they never clean, and are entertained till they drop? If you have just answered, "A house guest," you're wrong because I have just described my kids. -I've exercised with women so thin that buzzards followed them to their cars. -My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint. -My kids always perceived the bathroom as a place where you wait it out until all the groceries are unloaded from the car. -No one ever died from sleeping in an unmade bed. I have known mothers who remake the bed after their children do it because there is wrinkle in the spread or the blanket is on crooked. This is sick. -People shop for a bathing suit with more care than they do a husband or wife. The rules are the same. Look for something you'll feel comfortable wearing. Allow for room to grow. -When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me". -Youngsters of the age of two and three are endowed with extraordinary strength. They can lift a dog twice their own weight and dump him into the bathtub. -My theory on housework is, if the item doesn't multiply, smell, catch on fire or block the refrigerator door, let it be. No one cares. Why should you? -Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the 'Titanic' who waved off the dessert cart. -When mothers talk about the depression of the empty nest, they're not mourning the passing of all those wet towels on the floor, or the music that numbs your teeth, or even the bottle of capless shampoo dribbling down the shower drain. They're upset because they've gone from supervisor of a child's life to a spectator. It's like being the vice president of the United States. -Insanity is hereditary. You can catch it from your kids.

She wrote some hilariously funny books too. "The grass is always greener over the septic tank." "If life is just a bowl of cherries, then what am I doing in the pits." You can sometimes find her books at flea markets or second-hand stores and even though she writes mainly for women, her sense of humor is fantastic and one comes away with a very good feeling from those endorphins flowing.

Thanks Tia, That was great. We actually have a purple hat club in my town. They meet for much drinking at least once a month. I'm still a little young to belong, though. But it makes me look forward to being 60 one day - just so I can wear a purple hat and drink alot! Of course, I do one of those things already (ha). Hugs, Kris
