I'M POOPED...

I decided that today I would do something nice for someone I love and I did it as a surprise.
My mother-in-law has been in a lot of physical pain and she needs surgery on her back among other ailments, so I know even though she doesn't say it, that she can't do much for herself. Her husband is in Florida until the surgery.
So today, I surprised her at 9:00 am. I walked in, told her "all I need is coffee and quick". So I ironed, vacuumed, washed dishes, mopped, cleaned her bathrooms, organized her bills, and cleaned her office/extra bedroom. I also climbed those dreaded stairs to the cellar with a bunch of stuff she wanted up there - you know as I was looking for spiders  . She tried to stop me and I said "woman, don't stop me now, i'm on a roll, you see me coming and run or i'll run you over"...Six hours later and i'm in a fog, but damn if this place doesn't look spotless. 
I even sat down with her and we prayed and she cried on my shoulder and of course I cried with her...i'm such a moosh. Then I put some music on and we danced - she danced with a cane of course.
Gordon is going to have to give me a rubdown tonite, but my heart feels good for helping her out.
I left with lots of goodies too. 
Sometimes, we're so consumed with our own troubles that we forget those we love that could use our help (including myself). This place is a great example of people hurting and still helping each other.
We should all be proud of how we love one another here and help each other during our most desperate times.

Such a sweet thing to do! That's the king of thing we all need to do more often.
Which reminds me.... I need to get over to MY mom's house and do a few things...

My brothers been having financial problems for a few months now, so I loaned him $500 to make his mortgage. Over night I thought that someone needed to cut this guy a break if hes ever going to pull himself up, so I called him the next day and told him that the loan was now a gift.

Ya know, every time I look at this thread title in the list my mind automatically removes the "'M" from "I'M POOPED" making it read:
"I POOPED"
A phrase familiar to anyone with small children around. I guess my mind is just conditioned to listen for that pronouncement

It really irks me when I see people (as I do daily) who won't do a damn thing for anyone without first figuring, "what's in it for me?" - then to see people doing things unselfishly without any thought of getting anything back.... well... that's how things should be. Puts a lump in this old broad's throat -- and that takes a lot (as most of you know).

Mel, I printed the pic of the donut cake...I told Gordo I wanted that when we renew our vows. He just said "yes, baby"...I hope he doesn't think I was joking...LOL
