"This is a huge LED sign belonging to Interstate AC Service in Nashville, TN.
This sign overlooks I-40 westbound as it approaches downtown Nashville."

You've got it backwards - the original bill was written in a way that might let non-resident aliens qualify (if they have a tax payer ID and paid taxes).  Problem is, the IRS doesnt know who is here legally or illegally - they only know who paid taxes.  For a few billion dollars, they could be turned into a branch of the INS and start enforcing immigration laws.

And both sides of the isle in the House worked to rush the bill through without meaningful debate, and now both are working to close that loophole.

Sorry, B$ - The narrator said "caught and convicted." That means he no longer gets to vote.

That's not exactly true, Brew.  Apparently many states reinstate a felon's right to vote once his/her debt to society has been paid.  There are also a few that never reinstate the right to vote.  Here are a few links I found in reference.

Lots of other links found using the phrase: convicted felons vote   on Google.
