Last week Crystal was rushed to the ER from school. It seems that before school she got together with some friends and smoked a joint laced with purple haze. I had to rush to the hospital. I cannot tell you what it took for me to remain calm. She was behaving completely insane, literally. She was singing, screaming, punching the walls, talking nonsense, arguing and talking to people that weren't there. They finally restrained her in the bed, put an iv in her and kept giving her fluids and checking her fast heart rate. After about 4 hours she was back to normal...she remembered nothing. Today, she had to come back home from school because she felt numbess on her body on all of her right side and fast heart rate again. According to her she hadn't smoked anything and I believe she didn't after that scare. So I call the hospital and they were just leaving her there. I mean isn't that a sign of neurological damage? Anyway, I called my surgeon and my old endocrinologist and they're seeing her tomorrow and they'll arrange for her to get an MRI, free of charge. Any prayers would be appreciated. I've known at least 2 friends who ended up insane from this crap. Langa

Oh Mooch I hope she is ok and there isn't any damage. Crystal needs to find some new friends! Why do kids need to do stuff like that? It is hard enough just growing up sometimes, let alone mixing drugs into the equation. She is a good kid and she has a terrific aunt. Prayers and vibes going out to you guys. L, P.

What is Purple Haze? Is it the strain of weed that they were smoking? I have never heard of anybody smoking LSD. I would highly (no pun intended) suggest having your daughter tested to see what made her that loopy. Weed alone can't do that, so you need to know what she was exposed to.

or it could be this.............. Haze Laced w/Purple TOp Crack Juice A Drug Dealer is cooking purple top crack. He finishess. He dumps the crack roks in a bag. Then whats left in the pan is crack juice; The Left overs of oils, chemicals, liquid cokane and left over bakeing soda. Then THe Drug Dealer has a sack of haze. He pours the crack juice in to the sack of haze. Puts it out for it 2 dry then sells it as Purple Haze. Thats what some of us bangers in NYC do to keep you commen back. The Pothead never knows its laces with crack juice because its dried up and soaked with the weed.

Thanks for all the replies and prayers. Crystal told me that she met this girl in class and her boyfriend, a dropout, would hang out in the morning before going to school and would smoke pot. She said she knew he laced his with something he called "purple haze" and he even warned her not to smoke from his...somehow she picked up the wrong one and then that happened...for all I know she's lying and just wanted to try it. The doctor said it was lsd and my husband said purple haze is basically lsd. She really got a scare and promised never to smoke pot at all, but we'll see how long that lasts. It's been really tough for her all her life. First her father gets arrested, then her mother, my sister - hence me raising her. My sister later on straighened up and had 2 other kids, but I never gave Crystal back. So when her Mom died, she became very rebellious and angry and wanted to go back to Harlem and for my sanity I let her go and she's had nothing but problems. I do know she loves her father and her father is very good to her and is strict about the drugs and dating and such, so I'm at peace there, but i'm really worried she's going to do something really stupid...I just feel a part of her is on some self-destructive path from anger she's held on for so long and never released it. When she first was in the hospital, she called me Mommy - she sounded like a 3 year old, and I had to literally get in the hospital bed with her to calm her down because she was freaking out - seeing things and what not. Eventually she fell asleep in my arms and woke up as I said before fine with no memory of what happened. But I feel she's had some lingering damage. I tell you, i've taken some nasty blows and am still standing, but I don't know how strong i'll be if something happens to her. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks again. Love, Langa

Oh honey. It sounds like PCP, and that can be added to joints pretty easily. Kids have been known to do some dumbass things and still be OK. I'm sorry you had such a scare. I love you both and you're in my prayers. hugs, nani

They can probably figure out what it was by pulling out a couple strands of her hair and testing it (rather than everyone speculating). This methodology is good for about 30 days after the ingestion, if I recall correctly.

| No , not necessarily. It might just be for observation. Some of the effects can conceivably last a few days or longer, but still wear off without any lasting damage. No telling what it really was without running tests. Street names don't always mean a lot. LSD usually lasts for more than 4 hours, especially if it is a full blown trip. Hopefully, this will scare her straight.

» Can a urine drug test detect if I've used LSD? LSD is not usually tested for in standard or advanced drug tests. Because of the tiny amounts involved and its rapid removal from the body, it is very difficult to detect. It stays in the urine for 24-48 hours. (Most standard drug test don't screen for LSD) It really sounds like PCP or possibly crack or crank. Go ahead and take her to the docs, but she really should be fine. There is also a possiblity that if she had the lest little *glitch* happen to her today, that her mind decided that it was the stuff she did and her body reacted. Poor kid. Hard lesson to learn.
