Sprint Nextel - here we go again.

Reduction of 4000 employees. No merit increases in 2008.
Wall street responded well - our stocks dropped by $2.50 in the 1st 90 minutes and are now valued at $9.43 a share.
I remember selling stock in 1999 for nearly $110.00.
Needless to say my 401K sucks pond water.
We'll see if I can make it through this one. Whereas, I will have been here 30 years in February - I doubt it.

Jesse just made it through a buyout of Stora Enso by NewPage. He got lucky, they're not shutting down his mill, yay!

Sorry Echo.
Sprint did well for a while but hadn't been able to keep pace with the other telcos. I thought for a while that the sprint-nextel marriage would be good for both but it really hasn't turned out that way.
I hope you make it to 30.

Maybe, just maybe the company will begin to offer golden handshakes. You'd be right in line! Doesn't solve the problem of 401k imploding, but.....HEY........at the very vleast, perhaps you could retire!!!
