I don't know how to "blue" this link, but it's worth watching. If it's happening in Texas, it's probably happening in 49 other states too..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG6X-xtVask Heck, it "blued" by itself.... I'm gettin' better..

And I'm sure they see nothing wrong with what they're doing. They all should be ejected from office, and spayed or neutered to remove them from the gene pool.

We sold a house once, and we didn't live in that city. So we gave power of attorney to someone else, who sold it for us. I don't know what the rules are for that legislature (and they should follow them, whatever they are) ... but I am not opposed to the idea of someone giving power of attorney for their vote. If they know how they stand on an issue, let em weigh in on it and represent their constituents. Photo IDs for citizens to vote? Ok. Making it criminal for anyone to deliver a ballot to someone who doesn't drive to the polls? Sounds like it would shut-out the shut-ins and do away with the whole idea of absentee voting.

Monty, The way it's done now (at least where I've voted) is the people are driven to the polls and one of the poll people take the ballot out to the vehicle to them and they vote OR it's mailed to them and they mail it back in (there are some rules on that one, but don't have them offhand), but NOT someone carrying a ballot in for someone else. Where I've lived (and there were some pretty hot races - locally) there was a lot of ballot tampering, so I'm a little paranoid about the voting process. I've never complained about showing my DL to vote and don't think anyone else should either. In years past we've had too many cemetery residents voting. Hugs BD

OK - I've never heard of that, but suppose it could be a problem in places. So the proposed law wouldn't affect absentee ballots?

We have either postal voting here or you turn up to the ballot yourself. Thats two options, just how many do people need?! I don't agree with absentee voting (I'm talking about here but it's relevant there too) there is too much potential for abuse. If you can't be arsed to get off your lazy butt to go and vote then don't whine. If you CAN'T vote you can send your vote in by post - what's the problem???
