Goodbye Panchito!

This morning we got the sad call from the vet, our friend of 8 years Panchito, our Dear Cat died. . He had been battling tumors from the last 3 months and he had a very invasive surgery to remove them , that is why I could not make it to the convention in Austin. The tumor grow back and we decided to go for a different treatment. The Vet was trying to shrink the tumor with medication instead of opening him again. We tought we were winning but we lost. Panchito you will be terribly missed. I will miss the half eaten rats and mice in my front porch. The still alive snakes you brought to me as a hunting prize. The scratches at the door to remind me of my owner duty to keep your bowl full of water and food. Your gentle reminders to Mireille that you were a living thing not a tail pulling kind of toy. Thanks for teaching her to be sweet and gentle with you and our other pets. Thanks for making John understand that cats are family pets, not hunting targets. He will miss you too even if he does not show it. You know he put you down as Panchito Murphy at the vet office. He sure loved you as much as I do. Thanks for all the rubbing and purring and all the hair left in my clothes and the soft nibbling in my fingers when I petted you and scratched your tummy and your itchy ears. But most of all for letting me being your friend. You are now being pet by my little brother. He will take care of you in Heaven and someday we will all be together again. Until then, I will see your picture and remember all the sweet moments we shared. Love you Panchito, I will ever love you my dear kitty Your Mama Rosy.

I'm sorry for your loss Rosy Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

Thank you guys. I have cried so much today that my eyes and head hurts. I should have been ready for this but I could not . I knew he was sick but I always hold the hope he will get better and be with us for at least another 8 years. Mireille trying to comfort me told me we can get another kitty and that broke my heart even more..Panchito can't be replaced, there was only one Panchito. I think it will have to pass long time before I even get used to the idea of him gone forever Thanks again guys for listening and being there for me. putting this out of my heart will sure help. Rosy.

Rosy, I just got home and read this. I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to go through, and only a pet owner would know this feeling. I hope Panchito meets up with our cat Cloudy, who was the nicest cat we have ever owned, and miss very dearly to this day. Again, as pet owners, Angie and I feel your loss. He is in a better place and no pain. Barry&Angie

Rosa hon, I know how much this hurts you. Many of us have shared that same pain, and some of us are waiting for it, knowing that we'll be feeling the same soon. You know your kitty isn't in pain anymore. Knowing that and that you've had so many years with him, should lessen the hurt and let you enjoy the beautiful memories of your time with Panchito. Love you Rosa. I'm so sorry for your loss. Jen
