Two guys came across an old mineshaft while hiking in the mountains.
"I wonder how deep it is?" asks the first guy.
"I can’t tell", responded the second.
With that they dropped a rock down the hole, waited and waited, but didn't hear it hit bottom.
"Let's try a bigger rock," said the first guy.
They tossed a watermelon-sized rock down the hole, waited and waited, but never heard it hit bottom.
They looked around for something bigger to throw down and found an old railroad tie, which they dumped down the old mine.
As they waited a goat streaked between them and jumped straight down the mineshaft.
They were scratching their heads in amazement when a third guy approached and asked if they'd seen a goat.
"Yeah, just now," said the first guy. It just ran past us and jumped into this mineshaft”
"Oh well, then it couldn't have been my goat," said the third guy. "I had him tied up to an old railroad tie."
