On a mid-American farm, one farmer was having a difficult time with a horse of his that was always depressed. For some reason, no matter what the farmer did, the horse would stay sad. The farmer decided that he needed outside help, so he placed an ad, saying he'd pay $20,000 to whoever could make the horse laugh. After days and days of trying, he was about to give up when a young man pulled up in a beat-up truck. He hopped out and told the farmer he'd do it. After the farmer agreed to let him try, the young man went over and whispered something in the horse's ear. In that moment, the horse burst out laughing, so the farmer paid the young man, who drove off. The horse continued to laugh for a very long time. Finally, the farmer was tired of hearing the horse's laughter, so offered a quarter million dollars to whoever could make the horse stop laughing. After several failed attempts, the same young man, now driving a nicer car, pulled up and said he could do it. The farmer let him, and, after a moment, the horse burst into loud tears. As the farmer was paying him, he had to ask. "How did you do it? How did you make him laugh?" The young man shrugged. "Easy. I told him I was hung better than he was." The farmer hated that it was so easy for him, but then had to ask. "So how did you make him start crying?" The young man shrugged again. "Proved it."
