The new rooster strutted his stuff as he entered the chicken coop. He headed straight for the one he was replacing, an older rooster who had clearly seen better days. "Outta the way, pops. It's my territory now."
The old rooster looked at the new one. "Boy, I've been sittin' here, fertilizing the chicken eggs since before you were an egg yourself. I ain't movin' for nobody."
The new one looked at the old timer. "You're outta time. Get out of my way."
The old one looked startled, then thought of something. "I'll tell ya what, boy. I'll give in if ya can beat me in a race around the farmhouse. Just one hitch, I get a ten second headstart."
The new one laughed. "Okay old timer. You're on."
The old rooster took off, heading towards the gate, running relatively slow, so the new one laughed as he counted off the seconds.
When the count was up, the new one took off just as the old one turned the corner. He saw the old rooster as he rounded the corner, just heading into the back yard.
As he turned, he was catching up to the old rooster, just about ready to pass when...
BLAM!!!
A shotgun blast sounded from the back porch.
The old farmer shook his head, putting his gun away. "Dammit, that's the third gay rooster I've bought this week!"
