First for me!!

Hi All!

I'm Glad to see that I'm not alone in this-- have had these headaches for the past 20 years, on and off, and way back then a GP daignosed it being clusterheadaches.  I first of all just want to know if anyone has ever heard of DRY NEEDLING? Some people wrongfully puts it in the same field as Acupuncture, Which it is not!!I have had wonderful success with it as I ended up in hospital with this last cluster, and my neurologist was really at the end of her wits.  She put me on Dekadron, which worked for exactly 24 hours, (on the pamphlet it says for up to 3 weeks) and also some corticosteroid injections under my skull right round my neck.  This also proved to be fruitless, and then the Physical Therapist (Physiotherapist here by us) suggested the needles.  Since she started with that, the frequency, and intensity of the headaches has gone down, and I'm sure were winning the battle this time.  I live in Namibia, which was called South West Africa previously, and if anyone needs information about this, they can just mail me-- I'll be so glad to help.  I also desperately need info about diet-- what must I avoid, and what must I take more of?

Thank you

As far as what to avoid and what to have more of, alcohol seems to be a trigger for almost every clusterhead. Other than that, you'll have to determine what to avoid for yourself. What may trigger for one person won't for the other. So make yourself a list of anything you've noticed that does trigger attacks for you, if there is anything, and try to avoid those.

As far as diet goes I stay away from smoked cheeses, I don't eat meat (Occasionally fish), I stay away from MSG and Nitrates.  I also quit smoking and drinking all together and have tried meditation and yoga.  SmileyGood luck.  Murphysmom
