Happy Thanksgiving

Things to be thankful for:
• Trains, cars, horses and buggies that allow us to travel great distances to share Thanksgiving with our loved ones.
• The spouse who complains when dinner is not on the table on time, becuase he/she is home with me, not with someone else.
• The teeneager who is complaining about doing the dishes, because that means he/she is not out on the streets.
• The mess to clean up after the party, because that means that I have been surrounded by friends.
• The taxes I pay because that means that I am employed.
• The clothes that are a little too snug, because that means I have enough to eat.
• My shadow that watches me work, because that means I am in the sunshine.
• A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need washing, and gutters that need fixing, because that means I have a home.
• All the complaining I hear about our government, because that means we have freedom of speech.
• The space I find at the far end of the parking lot, because that means that I am capable of walking.
• My huge heating bill, because that means that I am warm.
• The lady behind me in church who sings off key, because that means that I can hear.
• The piles of laundry and ironing that need to be done, because that means that I have clothes to wear.
• The alarm that goes off early in the morning, because that means that I am alive.
