Check your instant messages.

Look up Roxy (Tracey) in the profiles. I believe that she uses that facility.

Give me a call at work if you wish. I put the number in an instant message to you.

The message said it was going to txcowgirl. Is that correct?

Like Miklos said, check with Roxy.

It seems the case with the Doc's that once you have established a file with a clinic they are more receptive to reasonable appointment schedules.

Sooner is better IMHO.

Hi Renee,

Yep, I go to the Houston Headache Clinic.  They have worked pretty well for me.  Dr. Ninan Matthew is the neuro that I see.  I don't always agree with all their suggestions, but they work with me.  He gave me 02, trex and verap on my first visit.  The really good thing is that he lets me fill my trex every 5 days.  I've had problems getting any trex lately, because I haven't been back in for my quarterly check up (I've been way out of town).  When I can get back in, he'll start the prescription again.  My insurance is another reason I can't fill the script as often as I would like.

I called them on a Monday, and he saw me on Wednesday of the same week.  Ran all the tests (MRI, sonagram, etc) right there in the office.  He is one of the leading CH doctors in the states.  He also believes he's God.....but, you can work around that little issue.

Anything else you would like to know....just ask.  Glad to hear the Dallas office is still going to be open.  Last time I was in.....they said they were going to close it.

PFDAN,
Tracey

btw:  Matthew is really big on Botox..... Huh

Tracey,

Thanks for the info.  I'm not sure if it is Dr. Matthew that I see next Wed. or not.  Heck, they may only have one neuro for all I know.  Anyway...I'm new to this and I think trex stands for imitrex?  i'm not sure what you mean by verap???

I don't care if they think they are God, the devil or Saddam Hussein, so long as they can help with my headaches.   laugh

Thanks for your input  Tracey and also thanks  to Miklos, Steve, Thomas, Sandie, and Jean for your pf vibes, concerns and genuine interest.  CH might be mighty painful but it appears to me it occurs to some mighty good people!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Renee (aka txcowgirl)

Dr. Mathews is, was, my neuro. as well. He was the first to diagnose me with CH. After ten years of all kinds of BS from all kinds of doctors. For that I was grateful. He helped me at the time.

I haven't seen him in four years now. Haven't needed to go back because I treat myself with shrooms.

Roxy,
Just curious if you have discussed shrooms with him? I keep thinking of contacting him and telling him about my situation and how well they work for me.

When I told my doc I was thinkin of tryin shrooms she looked at me with a bit of a scowl and said, "I didn't hear that" lmaoooo so I said it again...hehehehe laugh
She wrote me up for some morphene...I declined, nah...thanks
Verap=verapamil, lowers blood pressure.
trex=imitrex, abortive for the CH if it breaks thru the verapamil
