hi,just read johns post about what  questions to ask your neuro.on my second visit to the neuro i got palmed off with what seemed like a trainee/work experience guy, after only a couple of minutes me and my gf were looking at each other as if to say "back to square one".when i told him 720mg of verapamil wernt working he left the room(20-25mins) to consult the big cheese.while sat on our own i said i was gonna ask him a couple of obvious  questions to which i knew the answers, heres the questions and answers.Q how many injectors is it safe to take?  A.2-3 a week.   Q is raised body/enviroment heat connected to an attack? A. no i doubt it. so i totally agree with bob, dont just take it for granted that because someone has the title of neuro that their gonna be clued up about ch.stuart

Hi Stuart

It’s interesting how some medico’s apply their trade; I’ve just been to my local Doc to have a cyst removed from my back & give my Doc an update on how I’m going with the Taurine/Magnesium & calcium prevent & she was some what impressed with the results.
It was by coincidence that there are currently some medical students attached to the practice as part of their hands on training & my doc asked if I minded if one of these trainees sat in on the visit.
My Doc asked the trainee what she knew of Cluster headaches & she replied that she only knew the very basics & little more.
My Doc then said have a listen to what Barry can tell you, he suffers from the condition & will give you the best education you will ever get on the subject.

I wont elaborate on what I said but after around 20 minutes of giving the basic symptoms, the effects & the o2 abortive along with the results of my good run with using Taurine etc both medico’s where suitably impressed.

I guess in every respect my Doc is right when she says that we are the best educators of our condition & should try & improve others knowledge wherever possible, these people aren’t ignorant by choice, they simply don’t know & its up to us to improve that situation.

Cheers
Barry
